What is it with my throat? What do I do about it?

I brush my tongue when I get done brushing my teeth. and this morning when I was brushing my tongue, I accidentally made the toothbrush hit the back of my throat. Now I've been having a lot of pain towards the left side, it hurts to lay down and move, to open my mouth, swallow, eat, etc. I don't know if I can get a visual of what my throat looks like with this pain but it almost feels like a lump as if I have a throat infection. Is all this pain really from that accidental move? When will it go away? What do I do? I can kinda feel the pain in my left ear too.

It could be that it's a bruise. Shine a flashlight in your throat or if you have someone living with you, ask them to take a look at it.

If the pain doesn't go away or lessen by Monday morning, I'd go see a doctor if I were you. Just doN't panic first.

lol I don't know... if you can get a bruise on other parts of your body, then why not your throat? It's tissue as well... And muscles...

Yeah if it doesn't show any signs of getting better by Monday morning, I recommend having it checked up.

Shit! I just looked at it with a little flashlight and tried pressing my tongue down to see it better and there's these red lines! 😢😭

If I were in your position, I'd wait until tomorrow, and stop touching it with my tongue. Since here where I live, there are no doctors open anyway. And if it doesn't show any signs of healing, I'd go to my family doctor first thing in the morning they open.

If the pain gets worse or something but I have low pain tolerance so I can only handle so much. And if I have to skip eating then I will. And I have health insurance so they would get notified and pay for it.

It still hurts and I told my foster mom, she gave me warm salt water to gargle, it made my throat get this weird feeling, it still hurts, it still looks red on the left. I don't know what to do! 😢😭

You're welcome. It's good and better. It went away on its own but too bad I have a gum problem now. I have braces and I went to my orthodontist yesterday and they had to remove the band because my gums are puffy 😡 it seems like one problem goes away and then I get another one soon after
