Why are a lot of americans fat?

Im from Brasil, and i visited california last week. i was surprised on how many fat people i saw. I alwways heard the rumors about the americans but i didn't beleive. and why are so many of u fat?

I have live in Rio and loved it. Americans are fat due to political party Republicans who control our food supply. Much of the food produced in the USA can not be sold outside the USA due to it's genetic engeneering. Our beef, chicken and pork are designed to grow to full weight in a small amount of time. So the people get fat in a slow amount of time. In the USA we place salt in everything and in Brazil not so much.

All of our chickens have a form of poison in all of them that will kill you if not properly cooked. The food supply is a mess. My ex-wife was Brazilian and she had to watch her weight while here in the States. Now you know.

because the school systems have taken much of the physical activity out of the curriculum as well as McDonalds Burger King etc as fast food. In short, lack of exercise and poor diet. You can thank Computers for much of the LACK of exercise.

As many people have pointed out, there are several factors that contribute to America's obesity problem. The portions here are large and more than people should be eating. Food is cheap is and easy to obtain, especially fast food. For those who are struggling with money, it's easier to buy this cheaper, unhealthy food, too. Many people are just lazy, too, and do not take care of themselves as they should by eating properly and working out.
