Your friend will gain the weight. She is young, with a fast metabolism, and no stress in her life. Stress is an underated factor in wieght gain and loss, the more stress from outside sources the more weight you put on the harder it is to take it off.

I always have the opposite problem... I'm your skinny friend that lounges and eats constantly, but I have friends bigger than me and if any conversation of weight comes up, I have to shut my mouth because I was "gifted" to be skinny. As you've stated, we can't control what we were born with.12

I dislike when skinny guys always say they can't gain weight. I don't care how fast your metabolism is. I don't think you will burn calories even 1.5 times as fast as a normal metabolism person while resting. They honestly just have to eat more. say you are like my friend, he is 5'11 and weighs 140lbs. He says he eats a lot, but every time we eat together he eats only one bowl of rice and some dishes. While me at 6'2 180lbs I eat 2 bowls of rice and twice as much dishes.
ur friend probably doesn't eat much other than drinking the pepsi. I know I lost 30 lbs on a vodka redbull diet lol.1

Because fat people blame their weight on genetics and metabolism issues when being overweight is due to two things only:
1- Not eating appropriately.
2- Lack of exercise.
The real issue is that when people want to try to lose their weight, it is already too late for them. You can't expect to lose weight in a way a 20 year old can, when you're 30+ years old being overweight most of your life. It is a fact that anyone can change their metabolism while changing their habits, but the earlier you take care of it, the better. And even still, it is a process that takes lots of dedication and discipline. Not everyone is up for that.
Do some people have faster metabolisms? Yes they naturally have, which will decrease when they are older if they don't ever begin to exercise. What you should focus is in your own metabolism, your own eating habits, and the amount of exercise you need. You're still young and in time to care of it. No excuses.

Right, yeah that happens. Mmm, I'll say some people just need to "train" it that's all. With consistency anyone can achieve it. The thing about exercise is not only losing weight/burning fat but also constant exercise will accelerate your metabolism in ways you can't imagine, it happened to me and it happened to lots of other people I know. Another tip is eating snacks (fruits, cereals, seeds, yogurt) regularly and plenty of water throughout the day without sitting and having full three meals only, that also helps on keeping your metabolism ongoing. The body adjusts eventually.
lol yep definitely true! Thank you for being understanding. I am bigger but I never blame my metabolism or anything like that. I was just tired of being categorized as a unhealthy slob or not being consider beautiful. I honestly want to tell my friend to workout with me. I can not sleep all day and do noting like her. I love to hike and that stuff but ugh she is just too lazy and for her to stay small drives me nuts lol
