it could be a sign she is not coping or is obsessed over how she is looking... I suggest you keep a close eye on her as PND (Post natal depression) can manifest in a few different ways... A friend of mine developed OCD... For her, she lost control of her life all of a sudden (when baby is in there it is protected, you dont have to worry about what they want or need, changing them etc) but all of a sudden there was this whole other life to look after and protect with an overwhelming feeling. Some women start to control other aspects, for my friend it was things being in their place at all times and sticking to schedules beyond normal... for your partner it could be her weight... Just keep a close eye on her, but she will be so busy now she will find hard to find time to eat. Get takeaway in once a week when you come home from work... if she refuses then worry, but a treat day won't do her any harm!

I don't think you should be worried. My mom said losing weight after the first baby was crazy easy and happened in about a month.
She said it really started to et harder after the second baby but she thinks that's for several reasons not just bodily changes (more stress and stuff like that).
However eating disorders after babies are not unheard of. It happens to many women especially ones who had lots of body image issues before they had a baby. So as always don't be concerned but just watch for unusual behavior such as:
Skipping meals
Not eating in front of you (example: I'm not hungry, I already ate)
Really restrictive eating
Extreme weightloss
Paranoia

Just typical traits of people suffering with eating disorders. I don't think she has one but it can always happen.

Nope had the same thing here. Three kids with the wife and she's 5ft 5in and 110 pounds. Dropped 90% of the baby weight within like a month every time. Big healthy babies every time too. The female body is amazing.

As long as she's still eating fine I wouldn't worry too much. But do keep an eye on unexplainable weight loss over a long period of time in general, which may indicate an underlying health issue.

I've heard of that happening. If she stayed active through her pregnancy and ate well, it's possible that she could have lost some weight. As long as baby is healthy and her OB-GYN isn't concerned, I don't think you should be either.

My aunt was able to fit into her jeans immediately after she gave birth whereas my mother always struggled with her weight afterwards. You can see which one is preferable, yes?

It is different for all women. My mum actually was really skinny all throughout her pregnancy with me and got even thinner after she had me. This is not the norm, but it does happen with some women.
Ask her how she feels and whether she has any concerns, but otherwise don't stress too much.

Some women bounce right back after a pregnancy and some take awhile. It more depends on her age, fitness level, genetics, and metabolism. While stress can make some people pack on pounds, it can make others lose weight, and newborns are very stressful. As long as she is eating healthfully, and isn't over exerting herself she should be okay. Maybe keep a close eye on her though

It's not necessarily a problem. Some women do lose pregnancy weight very quickly. I recommend just keeping an eye on her and if both you and her have concerns, speak to a doctor about it.

Some women lose weight while pregnant. Just keep an eye on her, make sure she isn't putting herself under any pressure to get thin, make sure she is happy with the baby and not depressed.

If she is breast feeding, that melts the baby weight away quickly.
