I've gone at least 5 days with no sleep at all because of my insomnia disorder. I take heavy medications, but I'm not sure how normal this is.
Would the majority of society understand this or am I kind of alone on this?
i been up for 24 hours a couple of time. i've felt like i was gonna lose mind.
i been on sleep meds for 4 years now and it helped out at first. but in the long run it kills because you become dependent on them and they do lose effect after a while.
either way i have a different type of insomnia. i always sleep 8 hours or more sometimes when i'm off work and dont have classes. but the thing with me is that sleep pattern is corrupted so i end up falling to sleep at 6-7 am everyday
Insomnia is the worst. Honestly the only thing that worked as a miracle drug for me was Ambien / Zolpidem. One of those and it's lights out in under 30-minutes; truly amazing. I've tried everything else from the sleep studies to handfuls of pills and not using electronics for X-hours before bed and so on. Nothing but Ambien was able to "fix" me. But now I sleep like a baby and don't have the drowsy hangover morning feeling.
The longest I've ever gone was four days. That was two years ago. I was extremely stressed, and I was also getting stressed from the lack of sleep. It seemed to make it worse. I finally crashed. Usually it's just one day where I can't sleep.
I can sleep whenever I want. Even when I don't want. 😕
You have no idea how lucky you are. A full nights sleep is wonderful.
Hmmm.. yes. Maybe. A full day sleep Is even better. ๐

My mum has severe Insomnia... she only developed it after my dad died a few months ago.
I'm with you dude. 5 days is the longest I went though. I was hallucinating
You know it's been a bad week once you start seeing stuff. I've been to the point of hallucinating demons and shadows and everything. I always just wish to pass out.
I stay awake (it's 3am right now actually) but it's usually from depression and anxiety.
I can't go longer than two days
Most I stayed awake is 3 days. I've been an insomniac for like 15 years. It's hell.
