This probably sounds ridiculous but I don't dare to post a profile picture on facebook. I've done it was and I was sooo anxious about putting my face up there I had to distance myself from all social media until I was ready to go back again. I'm not ugly, I really don't have any problems with the way I look it's just about all the people seeing it. I've always been really shy and an introvert although it's getting better. It makes me really nervous knowing that people will see this on their timeline, who will like it and who won't and I would feel so so pathetic if I got five likes when everyone else gets at least twenty. I want to post a good looking picture without having to feel like people might think "who does she think she is" or feeling like a loser because it won't get that much likes, I take it way too personally I know.

Well, since you want to, you could put up a picture of you just smiling, just your face. No one would think too much of it anyways, they all probably see dozens of pics on their timeline. If you're really nervous, why don't you put up a picture with you and your friend/s.

Then you have to get past feeling self conscious. You said you know you're not ugly. So believe it and be confident. And who cares how many likes you get or don't get. That stuff is irrelevant. You know who you are and that's all that matters. I've posted comments before and been surprised how many likes I've got. But at the end of the day it doesn't really matter
