Have you ever lived on a farm with pigs? I have. Pigs are NOT dirty animals. They are cleaner than many other animals, like cattle. If a farmer puts animals in unclean environments, that's the farmers fault, not because the animal is less clean than others.
Will a pig eat a variety of food? Yes. But that doesn't mean it's unclean, it just means it has a versatile diet - you know, kind of like humans. Animals take in nutrition from various sources, and turn it into something else. Whatever they ate no longer exists. It becomes something different. Even when we eat vegetables or fruits, we are eating recycled animal carcasses, decayed plants, animal poop - it's what we generally call dirt. It is no longer any of those things, it is something else.40 Reply

+1 ypigs are not dirty animals... a common misconception but they are no dirtier than most animals
since we can cook our foods at a temperature that kills all dangerous bacteria there really isn't any danger in eating pork.
to me a bigger question is why people eat veal00 Reply
+1 ySome people like the taste. There are tons of other things people eat all over the world that make others go "Really"? Like certain delicacies (caviar, raw fish - sushi, bone marrow, live octopus tentacles, fried locusts, etc).. What other people eat doesn't effect me. Bacon tastes really good, and I miss it sometimes. But I no longer can eat meat. I have a hard time digesting protein.

No matter how you think about it, pigs are a rather dirty animal. They are considered the scavengers of the farm (created to eliminate any waste on the farm), often eating anything they can find. This includes not only bugs, insects, and whatever leftover scraps they find laying around, but also their own feces, as well as the dead carcasses of sick animals, including their own young.

Not many animals are 'clean'. Have you seen the environment most live in at farms, whether it be cows, chickens, sheep, etc? I don't think about the life-style or diet of my food before I eat it. If that were the case, I might as well think of how the animals would feel about my eating them, and turn vegan out of guilt. Also, cows regurgitate what they've eaten and eat it again at least once... not exactly the most 'classy' behaviour either, eh?

it doesn't bother me we are going to die of some thing one day
Bacon meet is just very tasty, Parma ham love it or pork medalion roast with dried prunes is just too delicious. I wouldn't share the opinion that pork meat os lesser valuable than other meets, at least has not to much antibiotics and hormons in comparison to poultry and beef. And is not as fatty as lamb meet. However I would recommend to all eat lots of seafood, that the most healthy food and grate source of omega 3 and 6 acids.
10 ReplyI guess it's because they were brought up eating pork. My mom never buys pork or beef so I don't eat it. She occasionally buys chicken, fish, and seafood for my sister and little brother though.
10 Reply662 opinions shared on Health & Fitness topic. Because it's delicious? Although if I come at this using logic and reason that is not the only reason.. I hear whale meat is delicious but I wouldn't eat that. I guess it's part of my culture? It's plentiful and if you eat it sparingly then it won't negatively effect you.

Anonymous(30-35)+1 yI am vegetarian ;) I dont eat any meat. Man!! Any animal can be dirty just because they are pigs does not mean they are dirtiest of all. Such a stupid ancient question.

@Mesonfielde what the fuck made you think I meant eating it raw? Meat doesn't have to be raw to make you sick.

Okay okay, technically eggs can make you sick, milk can make you sick, even water can make you sick if it's contaminated. I'm not sure if there's anything in the world that cannot make you sick at all under any circumstances whatsoever. Anyways, this is a pointless argument, I'm fine with pork, and I think the only reason why it bugs me if someone claims they don't eat pork is because some particular religions made it a doctrine and I think that's just excessive and silly. I'ma just eat some bacon instead :p
+1 yBecause pork is delicious and bacon is gods gift to humans. And its not like were eating their stomach contents or eating them straight off the farm raw. Plus you cook it...
