+1 yi dont think you have felt a lot of fat lol!!!
trust me there is a different
i know what you mean man, its cause there is no contraction
also muscles are mostly water so if relaxed they will be somewhat gushy
as you get denser thicker muscle it gets less and less gushy09 Reply- +1 y
its like firm gushy dude, i mean yeah you might have some fat over your muscles, but for the most part, i think your comparison to "fat" is really incorrect...
- +1 y
sorry dude! i didn't see it!
haha yeah! thats a bit more accurate!!
well, i wish you the best with all your fitness goals
remember, stretch and contract and flex as much as possibile to build that mind muscle connection! - +1 y

+1 yBecause they're not flexed. Flexing your muscles makes them tighten so they feel harder, when they're relaxed they lie flat and smooth so most of what you're touching is the fatty tissue in your arm.

Same here but I'm still mushy, everyone has adipose tissue if not that would be really really bad lol.

Ur 16 Man U have a lot more fat than you think prob, I train over 15 hours a week and eat only lean meats and veg and I have that problem that I'm carrying child weight to a certain extent because it doesn't come off of some people until they are 19+ it will go away. I mean when I sit I don't go soft I still have definition and can feel my muscle still

13% my ass too mate cause I'm 14% and I'm not like "jelly" so must be fat mate. Relaxed or not my core is still solid, my chest, my biceps and so on still tight no where near "jelly" so it must be fat
- +1 y
U just don't like what u r being told mate, if ur muscle feel like fat then mate that is fat the two are totally different u sir are a fool
Well mainly due to the fact that you are not using the muscles as much. When they are being worked that's generally the time that they are active and needed.

It doesn't matter how many days you work out. What makes them grow are the reps that you use and what exercise you do. For example, I do push-ups for five minutes and take a break then I do another rep of push-ups for five minutes and do that for three times, then go over to crunches and do as many as I can for three reps, take a few minute break, go over to a machine use the minimum weight for so many reps and then build it up to strengthen the muscles. The key to growth is to challenge those muscles.
If you are challenging your muscles, drinking fluid, and resting when appropriate your muscles should be firm.
My boyfriend plays hockey and he has extremely firm muscles - +1 y
I understand that your muscles are not firm like they are suppose to be if you are working your muscles in the correct way. I am trying to help you by understanding what exactly it is you are doing.
You can't just use twenty-five weights non stop for a whole month and expect there to be results. That's not challenging the muscles at all to get stronger and firmer to lift. - +1 y
Listen to me... My Body fat #% is 13 % I've been working out for 3 months and I used to lift on and off years ago.. My muscles are THICK JELLY LIKE when they're relaxed but when I'm FLEXING my muscles are ROCK HARD so hello there miss IT IS TOTALLY NORMAL TO HAVE JELLY- LIKE MUSCLES WHEN THEY ARE IN REST
- +1 y
Ok if you are going to be immature about it with someone who wants to help you by understanding what exactly you are doing to have a better response to your question, then I'm done.
Also, I didn't state jelly muscles were normal, especially if you work out, but at that moment you neglected to give detail if you worked out or not. Three months is nothing, trust me I've been working out for seven years. - +1 y
You're not very good at explaining things... and I'm not being immature... I didn't neglect to give detail about working out... I clearly stated from the beginning I work out 5 days a week Of cours 3 months is nothing I know that Coz I just started. I know what I'm doing But I ASKED A SIMPLE LITTLE QUESTION WHICH IS WHY ARE MUSCLES SOFT WHEN RELAXED but you just couldn't understand that simple question... sadly..
- +1 y
with your original question, I was responding assuming you don't work out that much. Then I was trying to understand what exactly you do when you work out. You can't constantly be lifting fifteen pounds for a whole month and expect to get muscle mass and your arms to be firm. You need to challenge it by going up maybe two pounds when you feel the current weight is too easy to do.
- +1 y
I don't seee why you would assume I'm talking about my arms... but anyways, I didn't say my muscles aren't firm, my muscles are firm Everything's in shape. When When I say my muscles are jelly-like when relaxed I simply mean that I'm able to use my finger and push inwards. When my muscle is in it's relaxed state iti is firm but a bit jelly-like when I flex it is SOLID N The heaviest I can lift is 90 pounds which is Squats N I can dead lift 100lbs
- +1 y
My body fat % is 13 % and I'm perfeclty fine right here N I wanna stay at 13% Because I can see the veins but I don't wanna see all those "TINY" veins all over my body I think these thick veins are better and more appealing. The reason why I'm able to use my finger and push no more than a (Centi metre) inwards is because the muscle is in it's relaxed state
+1 yThey shouldn't feel like fat, they should feel solid, maybe you have a high bodyfat %
02 Reply- +1 y
I know, when its relaxed it should feel solid especially cuz your Bodyfat is 13%, my you need to carb up
