Protein shakes right after a workout at the gym?

So I've always worked out at home and would make a protein smoothie/shake directly after and consume it. But I've kind of plateued on what I can do at home so I'm finally reluctantly transitioning over to the gym. But the protein powder always says consume within 10 minutes of mixing. I've done it with just water and that was just awful. I almost upchuked. What do you guys do to make one since I'd probably do it in the locker room right after a workout?
