Sounds like you're using the wrong protein. Not all powders taste horrible, some taste delicious. Also if you've plateaued it means that you're not getting enough excess energy going in (that's if you're working out very hard). Eating 2 times the protein of the weight you want to reach is not that effective (at least for me, it differs from person to person, hence why you have to experiment to find what works for you). I suggest you look into powders that are also high in carbs (especially if you're an ectomorph). Usually what happens when people plateau is they run out of the body's main energy source (carbs) and look elsewhere to make it up. If you're looking to gain muscle this becomes a huge problem since your body will use the protein you consumed as an energy source and then you won't have enough protein left over in your system to build new muscle. If you increase your carb intake, your body will no longer "steal" the protein you consumed and you'll be leftover woth enough protein to build muscle.
Also, you don't have to drink protein at the gym 1min after you finish working out, it really will not make a noticeable difference. Drinking protein 30min after you finish working out is extremely effective as well so don't fixate too much on that. If you do insist though on drinking it asap look for special protein cups that have a separate compartment for your protein. It's usually at the bottom that you unscrew, dump it in the cup where you already poured your milk, then shake.

If you think you've plateued then you need to re-assess the workout routine that you are doing, there , many workouts for many other muscle groups as well. I use hydrolized whey protein like within 5/6 minutes after my workouts and use water every now and then. I've switched it up by adding fruit or using certain 100% fruit juices as well, but mostly with chocolate. With vanilla I usually just add strawberries and almonds. My all time favourite is chocolate protein with a pack of blueberries and blackberries , add 1 cup pomegranate juice and 1cup acai juice and blend that shit up!!!
you do know that you have a 45 minute window to intake any protein after your workout right?
so you have plenty of time to get home and make it there... unless you life miles and miles and miles away and it takes you longer than 45 minutes to get home... D: that would be an expensive gym membership...
Anyway! if for some reason you cannot make it home within 45 minutes, you can always take a thermo cup with milk and ice or water and ice and just mix in the protein right after your workout? ... but I think you can make it home and make one. just dont' go over the 45 mins.

try a different protien. mine tastes good with water or milk. i drink one before and after though. i read that you dont have to drink one after, but you definitely need to eat some protien directly after a workout. even if you drink the shake after still have some chicken or beef or something. i've gained a good 20 pounds in the past 6 months using that method and it was all clean weight too!
Buy a nicer tasting one you can't go wrong with musclepharm stuff tastes great and it works really well top quality stuff
I actually do just use water since I'm lazy and just got used to the taste. you could probably make a shake and keep it with a ice pack or something to drink later without a problem though.

Nah bro. That's ridiculous. Mix it before you leave the house or just mix it when you wake up and keep it in the fridge. After you work out give it 5 to 10 minutes and drink it.
You should do it before and after workouts. I usually just use water and mix it up with some syntha 6 cookies and cream or mocha flavor.
In my experience protein shakes are a total waste of money. Unless you are a professional, I think you just need to eat proper food, and you'll be fine.
