How much does a woman's height contributes to a child's growth?

I often heard the father's height plays a bigger role in the child's teen years and overall height but what about the mother?

it doesn't depend more or less one parent over the other. it's simply whatever dominant genes your child gets.

for example. my wife and I have a child who is very tall for her age. yet we are both shorter (I'm 5'7 my wife is 5'2). we can't presume she'll be in that range though because we have tall genes (they are just recessive). so if my daughter gets those tall genes and they are dominant she could end up being tall like some of my other relatives.

so generally speaking it's hard to simply predict. if you have only tall people in your family then you likely have all tall genes so your child would be taller. but you could have short genes

There is a hereditary principle called 'regression to the mean'. Essentially when two people who have some characteristic to an exceptional degree have children the odds are the child will have more of that characteristic than average but less than their parents.

So if you were to have children with a guy as much taller than average as you, that would be 6' 4", the average likely height of your children would be something like 6' 2" for the boys and 5' 9" for the girls. The likelihood of having an extraordinarily tall child is much, much higher than for shorter people but it's still an unusual result.

not too sure about this actually, I've seen 2 short parents with really tall children and the polar opposite as well.

Genetics is complicated, anything can happen. My grandma is 5'2 and my grandpa is a good 5'9-5'10. All of my uncles grew up to be 5'10 and above, with three of them over 6 ft. I think with your height it's a good chance your boys won't be shorter than you, girls might be around your height maybe slightly shorter or taller depending on how much taller the father is.

It CONTRIBUTES GREATLY. If your future husband is 6'4 and you have a daughter, dating will be hell for her because she will grow to be between your two heights.
