How does this type of weight loss happen?

Anonymous
For the last two weeks I have enjoyed a diet rich with the worst food known to earth, fast food. I've been eating out from drive throughs, I've gone through a terrifying amount of mini candies, I've probably had 2 sodas a day, and add to that all the leftovers from Thanksgiving... and yet, I stepped on the scale today to see how much damage I'd done, and I'd actually lost 2 pounds. Thinking that scale was clearly broken, I tried my other calibrated scale, and it said the same thing. Contrast this with the 3 weeks before Thanksgiving where I was walking a a lot and eating a healthy diet, no snacking and I actually gained 2 lbs. I'm so confused how any of this is possible. Aside from the eating/exercise nothing in my life has changed dramatically in my habits. I'm not stressed, I'm definitely not getting more sleep. How does this type of weight loss just happen vs. the weeks when I was actually trying to keep the weight down or lose it?
