Do cold sore pop or dry up?

They don't pop, unless you pick at them. DO NOT PICK AT THEM!

They dry up, but you can help it along... Here's my best suggestions:

1) don't spread it to friends and family... put yourself in lock down like you have a cold, because you really are contagious.

2) You can dry it out, which is best, but will make your lips chapped for a few days, by using a cue-tip and some rubbing alcohol. This also kills any of the virus on the surface. The rubbing alcohol dries everything up. Try not to ingest any.

3) Go to your family doctor, or a walk-in clinic, and get two things... a cream to apply daily which is antiviral and will speed healing. I think it's called Acyclovir.

And second, you can get pills called Valtrax... it's for coldsores.

Once you have valtrax keep an extra refill on hand so that the next time you have an itchy lip and you can tell you're getting a coldsore you immediately take the Valtrax. It will cut your healing time WAY down. It's an easy WIN!

As for the "healing" part... once the blister is done you might consider the coldsore Polysporin. It speeds healing.

Thanks for your responds. Today is like 6 day and since 3 days ago they been yellowish hard and dry and I also see like yellow inside like liquid. In total I have like 5 cold sore all together. Today I did notice the smallest one is one of the driest and is like peeling off, is that normal? by the way can I use Campho phenique cream at the moment? I've only apply this cream when it was the 1st day and felt tingling feeling.

I've never heard of Campho phenique cream but that's pretty interesting. I can tell you that you should have been using the creame three times a day, every day, until the blistered stopped growing. And probably even after.

The creame prescribed by the doctor is likely the only creame worth your effort. And the pills will be truly beneficial. Once I started using the Valtrex pills my coldsores are almost completely healed in 5 days.

Also.. the pealing is normal, but it's best to not pick at it like a scab because if you force it off it'll bleed. The key is to keep it clean. So after eating or drinking you might want to swab them with cotton swab and rubbing alcohol! Then put on some polysporin to keep it moist, and to promote healing. The polysporin will keep it from cracking while it's flaking off and healing.
