If the itchiness is getting unbearable, I would consider getting an appointment with a dermatologist to figure out and target the cause. I would say experiment with different products intended for dandruff first. I like Nizoral A-D shampoo and for anytime I have itch, there's this liquid called Scalpicin which helps. Also, The Body Shop has this Ginger Scalp Care shampoo that also helps!
Do you happen to have oily skin perchance? Sometimes people with oily skin end up having rather dry scalps (like me!). I don't know if you wash your hair everyday, but if you do, try limiting it to every other day.

Head and Shoulders. I had dandruff really bad for my entire life. I shower daily so you couldn't tell, but if I ever skipped a day you could see little flakes in my hair. Head and shoulders cleared it up in less than a week. Now I use it to keep it from coming back.

It's possibly psoriasis which is what I have. It can only stop with medication from the doctor. The stuff they sell in shops for dandruff is not suitable for psoriasis. I suggest you look it up and see the doctor if you identify with the symptoms.
Soak your head in coconut oil lol. It helps. Also, use less chemicals on your scalp. Soap bars from Chagrin Valley work really well and they're super healthy for your hair.
it's maybe because of your shampoo. it's not compatible with your type of hair.. try anti-dandruff shampoos.
Use rosemary water to wash your hair. Do hot oil treatment with coconut oil mixed with rosemary oil. Use dandruff shampoo. Use hair tonic for dandruff. Dont wash your hair too often.
