Can you break your tooth on the side only?

So I have a cavity that needs to be filled, it hurts too. It doesn't hurt to chew or drink but there's always a mild pain. Anyway the other day I saw what looks like a crack on the inside of my tooth. Is it possible it could be a crack or something else. Its like a small line aNd the tooth itself hurts

So went to the doctor and apparently due to faulty tooth work.. I need. Root canal:/

A tooth can crack. Many people have hairline cracks, which can be noticeable when the crack stains (from coffee, wine) and it may appear slightly brown in color.

If the crack is deep enough, bacteria can enter and get into the soft pulp of the tooth, leading to infection. The body has a tough time fighting an infection in the tooth because the blood circulation is poor (the capillaries are tiny), meaning there is a low delivery of white blood cells to the area, and poor drainage of infected liquid (like pus). If a tooth is infected, it rarely recovers naturally, so I would go see your dentist about it. There are solutions, but not from home remedies.

Once a tooth is infected, the most common step is to treat with antibiotics. If the damage to the tissue is severe, then that means a root canal, where they extract all the living tissue.

if it hurts there might be an infection underneath. a buncha of substances can corrode your teeth, or make them brittle. (google)

Yeah, I had a crack in a tooth and one day eating cereal it just busted and I was pulling chunks of tooth out and almost passed out. The front corner and whole middle of my tooth is gone, the dentists say I need a root canal but there's something about that procedure I don't trust so I'm just gonna get it pulled with my wisdom teeth if I can find a surgeon to do it. I met many oral surgeons from all over my state and none would touch me, I have a huge phobia of dentists and the last appointment I went to I passed out in office and I said its not bothering me so let it go for a while. It can get infected and that is very painful so if and when that does happen gotta be put on antibiotics

It very well could be a crack. I have broken 2=3 edges off a tooth.

It didn't hurt as much as you may think. Mind you I have been told I have a very high pain threshold.

The dentist rebuilt it.

fillers.. there isn't a cure unfortunately since it is the adult set.
