Trending & News I've been making coffee for a few years now and haven't noticed any that have powdered milk in with the coffee grounds. If you go to a coffee aisle in the store there are many different brands and flavors or coffee to choose from, they also sell just the coffee beans that you could grind up yourself to make the coffee.
The only way I could see there being powder milk in coffee is if it's a cappuccino type powder mix which isn't coffee. When you buy coffee to make at home it's just ground up coffee beans, nothing else has been added.
use almond milk. add a teaspoon of coconut oil to it though, because it's the fat that froths in milk and very little fat is left in commercial nut milks.
Oh, nice. =) Will do!
you can use almost any product. the latte is just a steamed milk thing so i know people use soy milk and stuff like that.
coffee is most often bitter to the way it is brewed. the higher the temperature the more bitter, caused by acids are opened up. I started using a french press it is about the best method of limiting acidity
most soy milks actually don't make good lattes because they have very little to no milk.
*fat, not milk
@thewanderingme well they definitely aren't good in my opinion but i know you can do it. obviously not using a dairy based product is going to garner a different result but you can still make it.
i don't drink soy "milk" products so i don't even know how it tastes
I'm telling you from experience as a barrista and being a vegan. without fat it won't froth.
I think I found something for you :D

If you can't buy plant based milk, then you can do your own! Search "coconut milk". You only need to soak grated coconut in warm water, blend it and then filter out the leftovers of the granted coconut. It also works with almonds :)

I've never drank coffee, so immunity that familiar with the latte process, but can you sub soy, almond, or rice milk? Don't know if those have the same properties or not.
Latte literally means milk.
What exactly are you wanting to drink?
I know... I didn't mean a milk substitute (almond, coconut, rice... I got that covered), but what kind of a coffee that doesn't already come with a mix of powdered milk in it and is on the light side.
Technically, a caffe latte is an italian drink (and traditionally not all that popular in italy) made from -espresso- and steamed milk. So that's a VERY intense dark coffee, in small quantities, and a lot of hot milk.
A similar (and more common) beverage is the french 'cafe au lait' (i. e. coffee with milk). While it doesn't use espresso, it would be using a quite intense, dark coffee, before diluting with milk.
You can add a whole lot of any milk substitute, heated, to any kind of coffee you want. You don't need to use some special coffee if you don't want to use espresso. Most people are trying to get a really STRONG coffee to use in one because of the dilution. You can use what you like though, if mild is what you're going for.
If you're not aware, lighter roast coffee has more, not less, caffeine.
I personally like to drink soya milk but you can have almond, coconut, hemp, rice and oat milk.
Try almond milk. It's not cheap, but it's a healthy replacement that doesn't taste too bad like most of the soy options. ;)
I must admit, immediately upon seeing the question in the title, I thought, "breast milk".

Haha Haven't tried the regular one... It always seems too bitter for me. :(
You can't find any soy milk?
Sure, or almond or cocnut, or rice... but what kind of coffee that isn't too bitter? And doesn't have milk in it's mix already...
Coffee taste weird with soya milk
Almond milk? Or coconut milk maybe?
That sounds tough. You need milk! haha
It's not a latte without milk.
