Ringing in my ears?

So i recently was diagnosed with an ear infection... I've been taking amoxicillin to help and so far its going away veryyyyyyyy slowly. My ear is still clogged, but doesn't hurt anymore. Yesterday i developed a ringing in my ears, and i went to the doctor to make sure it was nothing big. He said its normal for people who still have ear infections. The thing is, im going CRAZY. The ringing in my ears is so annoying and i dont know what to do to make it go away. Does anyone have any suggestions or something that can help this?

Yes, listen to music - in particular ambient music. Even listen to it at night. I have unlimited data, so sometimes I stream stuff like that overnight while I sleep. If you have a radio station that plays classical, that can help too although, I'd prefer quieter stuff at night, but most radio stations don't care.

Moby released an album called Hotel in 2005. It was actually a double-album with the second CD being ambient music ("Hotel: Ambient") It is very good.

Listen to some of the music to get a taste.

The point is that ambient music isn't really music to "listen to", but to be played in the background while you do other things. With ambient music playing, your ears are working and you won't notice the ringing.

Personally, this is my favorite Moby ambient song - "Alone" from the album "Animal Rights" although it is also on Moby: Songs. It slowly grows in intensity and complexity adding layers of instruments. Nonetheless, it is a fantastic song and I've driven hundreds of miles listening to it or playing it while at work...

Here is a famous ambient song by Brian Eno, one of the pioneers of ambient music. This song is called "An Ending (Ascent)" and was made famous in "For All Mankind", a NASA documentary about the Apollo program to take humans to the Moon.

I have this. Like tinnitus or something. There's really nothing you can do for it except try to avoid loud music/prolonged noises, and at night (suggested by some nice people on this site actually) play some music (low volume). It works. During the day I can mostly ignore it, but when things get quiet it's the worst.
