Ringing in left ear?

Hey, so I've had ringing in my left ear for about a week now. I've already been to the doctor and she said that it was irritated but not infected and that I was not going deaf. I had the flu 2 weeks ago and she said that it could be from that, I don't think its from loud music because I only listen to my ipod for a hour a day at about half volume (and its only one ear that's ringing)

The doc didn't seem worried but I am freaking out! has anyone else had this?

Its just upper respiratory congestion and it will go away on it's own :)

My hear makes a sound more like a small hiss one's in a wile. I know it is from my high blood pressure. I had this all my life, I guess it started when I was about 15 or something and I take pills everyday to lower it.

Check your blood pressure.

If you have been flying in the last 6 moths you might have been to sensitive to bad controled plain pressure when landing. If so it can last for a long time coming and going. Just concern if it doesn't stop and itches.

I have it in both ears. When I went to my doctor he didn't seem that worried either and he said to try to ignore it. It actually went away for a bit, but the ringing has started again recently. I'm guessing your ringing will disappear after a bit. If it doesn't you could always see a specialist. For now I'd just suggest not focusing on the it.

If you listen out loud music on your iPod, that can cause that problem. Also, get a ear wax build-up kit.

Maybe early signs of tinnitus.
