I can tell you from experience that a big reason they seem like they can't fight is because of arrogance. They rely on the myth, strength over everything. I've trained mma in open door gym training facilities meaning anyone can walk in and try it and almost every body builder act the same. They feel being bigger and stronger than everyone gives them an advantage. In some cases it's true like if they get on top of a much smaller person but even then they can't defend themselves from submissions. Same thing in street fights. They bull rush you and try to get you down 9 out of 10 times. Avoid it and you can start landing punches at will. Its actually comical. I haven't seen many get knocked out though, but bloodied pretty badly. They also are so big that they get tired much much faster than normal. Of course I can't speak for all body builders, I'm going from my own experiences and most of the time the body builder loses. If you ever find yourself in a fight with a body builder just remember this, bigger isn't always badder even if you've never fought before. Watch for the bull rush and the wild punching and you'll be fine.

Its not about being physically weak, but about several other factors:
1. Subpar training for bodily strength. High strength in specific body-regions doesn't help with full-body strength and ther the torso, back and hips are the most important.
2. In combination to the first point the bodybuilders strength isn't build to punch and kick.
3. Lack of speed due to being too packed.
4. Fighting isn't about strength as much as people want to believe. Strength comes only into play when both fighters are equally skilled. Otherwise the more skilled fighter will win most of the time.
yeah they do, don't they? I used to think that, too. I know some people see a lot of the stuff they use - like the air chamber thing, I don't remember what it's called - it looks like some kind of medical equipment, and they think they're really unwell. Someone I knew used that as their reason. But really thats just for, like, helping to recover from intense physical exertion more quickly. Some MMA guys use it, too.
anyway, I don't know really why people think that. I know some girls who are body builders, they could beat the shit out of me, and I love them
Even though they are strong, their speed and reflexes aren't usually the best. In fights a good reflex and speed matter more than strength.
I have just started about 3 months ago Kung-Fu and when I get to try the attacks with someone double my size I can move them away from me.
I think because it goes with technique a body builder can lift a bunch of weight however it depends on how he's using it in a fight.

Granted I wouldn't fight either of them, but someone who can't actually fight wouldn't be at all intimidated by muscle. This is a stupid question... However, here's my two cents. Fighting and bodybuilding are two separate things.
Second the stats you posted may be applicable to a Guy running a steroid cycle at 200 pounds. I have placed in a Drug Tested powerlifting comp so I know what I am talking about. A guy at 200 natty, would be in very good shape to do those numbers.
There are a lot of types of fighting whether you mean UFC, Stand Up like Muay Thai or Boxing, or kicking someone's ass at a Bar / Nightclub.
In a Bar/Nightclub they are okay fighting unless the other guy is an experienced fighter.
Standing up in the Ring against a similar weight guy, the Bodybuilder probably has less reach and it going to take a lot of punishment trying to get inside. In a Muay Thai situation probably gets his legs kicked off before having a chance. A good Boxer is likely too quick to be hit.
UFC/submission - no skill setcompetition bodybuilders aren't so strong before the competition. but strongmen and power lifters are. the third strongest strong man alive (the mountain from game of thrones) actually occasionally does some martial arts for working out. so he can fight.
I don't know why people think what they think. I can't see a reason why a bodybuilder couldn't fight.
Speed is everything. I'd put my money on Bruce lee over Arnold any day. The fact of the matter is bulk slows things down.
If they aren't trained on how to fight, they are no different from other people who don't know how to fight.
since size is not the only facotr in being an effective fighter.
Strength doesn't equate to fighting skills.
Don't care violence is for idiots
