Shirtless yoga?

I suppose this question is primarily for those who also do yoga... but I'm curious about it. At the yoga studio I just started going to, it seems like 90% of the men take off their shirt to practice. Is that normal? And would it bother anyone else in the class?

Most of the guys do in mine, all of them do in hot yoga classes.
It doesn't bother me, too focused on my own practise. It's important to be comfortable, otherwise we fidget with our clothing and it detracts from the moment

Good point. I've done it in hot classes. It's very freeing, as long as you're not shy about being shirtless in front of people

That's true 😊 Yoga for me is just as much for the mind as it is for the body so I get a lot of confidence from that to wear what benefits the experience. I'd never EVER wear booty shorts on the gym floor but do for hot yoga

Agreed! For me it's even more about the mind than the body.

And if the women in the class get the added benefit of seeing me sweaty and shirtless, then so be it. Haha

Even if he weighed 120kg, had warts and a shag rug on his back it wouldn't matter. I'd think it's amazing that he's participating and doing something good for his body and completely applaud him for being comfortable in himself

Well, my yoga class is women only and there is no shirtless action going on... i guess if 90% are doing it, then it should be a big deal...

id say go for it is you are more comfortable that way.

I do hot yoga and wear less... you know... because its hot... but i enroll in a women only class so im cool with that, but i wouldn't be doing that with a bunch of guys around shirts or not..

Right, I hear you. Right now I usually only do it in hot classes. It helps. Otherwise my shirt is so sweaty I can't focus on the practice.
