Is there any plastic surgery to make your neck shorter?

My friend's always talking about how long his gfs neck is and how it makes her look taller than him (he's insecure about his height) so I said as a joke that she could get neck reduction, but then I got curious and I'm wondering if neck length reduction is a real thing?

No, absolutely not. It's impossible. There are so many things that prevent it from being possible. You'd have to cut the spine and the spinal chord, which would render the person quadriplegic. You'd have to try and avoid cutting the carotid artery, which I don't think would be possible. (The carotid artery brings blood from the heart to the brain, cut that, no blood to brain=no oxygen to brain=die). Then you've also got the problem of the esophagus and trachea, can't cut through those.

I'm not in the medical field, I'm sure someone with more knowledge could give even more detail as to why it's a completely bullshit idea, sorry lol.

You wouldn't necessarily have to cut of part of the neck. Would it be possible to move the chest and shoulders a little up and the neck further down into the body? I don't know just a thought

And how might you move portions of the chest up? Lol this whole idea is crazy. Moving the neck further down into the body would mean having to compress areas, again, with an area that's so delicate and vital like that, it wouldn't work.

My friend has had a neck surgery and it kinda has him fucked. Neck reduction probably won't be a thing because you'd have to remove sections of the spinal cord.

Couldn't you try to move the upper body (chest, shoulders etc) further up and the neck down into the body, making the body longer, the neck shorter and keeping the spinal cord intact

the way our anatomy is it would cause more harm than good. your esophagus would have complications and your organs would begin to shift (due to excess room)
