Why do highly educated people tend to look younger?

Looking at the people I know who graduated from a bachelors or PhD program, it seems the PhD students looked younger than the college drop outs or those who had BA’s but not advanced degrees and among my family friends, the more educated somebody was, the better they looked when they were older.

My theory is highly educated people tend to have better social relationships and positive social relationships makes you age slower.

I think it speaks more to personal development. People who pursue growth and degrees have a higher level of investment in themselves. This investment translates to healthy choices and determination, whereas those inclined to give up let go of themselves. This is not to say total self involvement is good, God wants us to be in the image of Christ not ourselves, but in doing so frees us from fear and improves our patience and resolve. Even if you have given up you can be renewed in Christ. The main thing is direction, determination, and investment if these are present in your life and directed in Christ you will thrive.

Smarter people tend to have healthier habits. They also tend to be wealthier and get better medical care.

I feel like education is all about problem solving. More the problems thrown at you, more you have to solve More you can survive, More endurance you develop. In effort to tolerate all that stress, you work out, you eat well you do all kind of things which make you look younger. And since you have more skills then you ever need less stress.

There are two kinds of people. Those concerned with having a lot of sexual partners that live a fast life and those who want a partner to have kids with and live a slow life

Could also be better diets and better control over their weight so better overall health
