What Is One Thing Preventing You From Reaching Your Goal Weight?
(i. e. lack of motivation, not enough time, poor diet, no gym access, etc)

I'd say there's a few things that contribute to my weight
Both sides of my family have a lot of men who are really fat and really strong it's just sort of a given that we're always going to look a little big and while that kind of sucks we also get a lot of muscle to go with it so you know is nice is very nice but if you don't like men with a "well-rounded" personality then unfortunately my genetics give me a disadvantage
Unfortunately the closest thing my family gets to not being fat looking is generally the dad bod and that's when you're lucky
I also don't have a working oven or stove so I have to eat from the microwave which means the only thing I get to eat is microwaved meals which isn't healthy but stoves and ovens cost a lot of money and I am not spending that kind of money right now
I also don't have access to a gym and live in a very small enclosed space however I am able to get some amount of upper body exercise at least in my arms and shoulders which I do somewhat frequently
I'm not exactly happy with my weight but I've just kind of accepted it because I don't really have much of a choice in the matter for now but when I move into a bigger place which I'm hoping to do soon I will be trying to get more exercise that way I can at least slim down a bit and even though it will probably never be a lot because again the whole dead body thing and that's when you're lucky it's better than nothing
Thank you for explaining your answer and taking the time to participate in the follow up question. Awesome feedback
Well, I was. Last year, after I suffered depression, I got rage after I saw my weight dropped 10 lbs. Beginning of last year, due to depression, I was 149 lbs. After I saw that, I got upset and started really managing my weight. By the end of August I was 179 lbs. My ideal weight was 185, which I have never been able to obtain, but I was so close!
Then, in the following months, due to inflation and a low paying job, I was forced to stop eating a lot of food and had to cut back from working out. So, when I checked my weight 1 month ago, I went back down to 155 -_-. I was so mad.
I recently got a new job that pays much higher. So I have actively been going to the gym, getting my protein shakes a gain (serious mass and a few other high calorie protein shakes) and eating really high calorie foods. As a result, my current weight is 164. Still a far cry from what I was last summer.
My goal is to get back to 179. It's a struggle for me, because I am still trying to recoup money and get my savings back up. In order for me to gain weight, aside from working out, I need to drink the following daily:
-Serious Mass (which is anywhere between 70-80 bucks per bag)
-High Calorie Boost (which is 40 per box)
-High Calorie Ensure (which is 10 bucks per package)
-High Calorie Factor meals
All of this is very costly, but it helps me gain weight fast.
I'm so sorry to hear about your depression. I hope you meet your fitness goals. You have an awesome plan!
Nope. I habe some work to do. Starting using birth control pills for the first time in my life fucked me up badly, put on like 30lbs in the blink of an eye. Was working on losing 10lbs before that so now I'm looking at that 40lbs like daaaaaaamn. But no worry hahaha creating a home gym finally since covid also messed up my wiliingness to go gym or to the park and I am a busy mummy. So we'll be working out at home soon. Already started stuff that need no equipment. And already began buying stuff for the home gym.
Birth control is the absolute worst. And that's great. I hope you are successful with your weight loss goals.
Yeah. I'm looking into a non hormonal IUD if I can find a good doc here. I live in the Caribbean. I'm so over those pills. Smh. I hate it so much lmao.
Thank you giiirl. I have to keep fit, maximum stamina for my boo 😋 thank goodness I've always maintained my flexibility through the weight gain sigh. I'll get there 💪🏽
Yes I'm satisfied with my weight currently but I'm having a hard time maintaining it because I'm continuosly skipping my breakfast and lunch meals (I don't eat from school cafeteria because I do my writing work that times) in school days and my weight is dropping down. Also my daily physical activities have increased. Now I don't wanna look bony. I prefer staying skinny in healthy way.
I completely understand! Thank you for taking the time to explain your answer. Great feedback
You're welcome!

Happier than a few months ago, but I could get about 30 pounds happier.
Happy is good!
I'm happy with the weight , I was never really over weight , but I lost 17 kg from 82 to 65 kg , 65 kg was okey , but the muscle was depleted when I injured my left arm , lots of rehab , and my goal by adding only muscle is 72 kg which is nicely toned for me , I've done a lot of training , so now its just focus on the toning , I was my stomach to look better also , it is tougher as you get older , but there should always be a goal and not an excuse. I've followed mostly Keto , and intermittent fasting.
Im 67 kg right now , and just about to have protein based dinner with much salad.
Very nice! I loved following keto and paleo diet. Now I've been trying to maintain a vegetarian diet. It's been very challenging for sure
I wish I was as dedicated as your daughter. My body responds best to being a vegetarian but I love meat 🍖
She loves it , so much so ( after 2 degrees ) she is currently a vegan restaurant Chef on the Old sunshine coast , I love meet and I follow Dr Sten Edberg - Keto , and interment fasting , he taught me so much , and I discovered that Gluten had been the cause of allergies for me , have not taken an allergy pill in 6 months , he explained all about how people like me , think we are non affected we actually are , also preservatives , really helped me , and easily done.
💜💜
Not happy with current weight (20 kg heavier than desired). It's a mental battle for me. Fears that I am unable to take the reigns of my life in this area properly. Equally, many professional trainers exercise women with masculine exercises - turn off. I want to he lean not muscular. Doetary programs with so much protein or protein powders are not my cup of tea.
It's definitely very difficult to get lean but avoid being muscular. Especially if you lift weights
I’m ok with my current weight, a lot happier than I was a year ago.
I’m around 135lbs and ideally would like to be 125lbs. What has stopped me from doing this (after already losing about 18lbs) is cancelling my personal training to save money, having covid and going on holiday, along with disordered eating habits. I’m hoping to get back on track now though.
Oh wow! I'm sorry to hear that you got Covid. That ruined a lot of people's weight loss progress during the pandemic. I'm sure you'll get back on track soon.
Thank you! It was just the timing, since it was after being on holiday where I was eating what I felt like, then covid hit and I felt like eating junk because I felt ill, and then I had to go away again, but tomorrow is the start of getting back on track :)
No I'm not. I'd love to gain back 5kg - I've lost way to much.
& what is stopping me is decades of disordered eating, not feeling hunger - or when full; I simply forget to eat and with my work where I'm moving a lot, that's no good. I'm slowly fixing my relationship with food and I'll get there.
I completely understand disordered eating. Thank you for sharing your story. I appreciate it
No. I've hit 32 and all of a sudden I am gaining all this weight in areas I never had before. ALSO, it is so hard to lose the weight now. I just started Atkins, which is a diet that really has worked for me in the past. Not seeing results yet but its only been a week
Atkins is a great diet. I would recommend paleo or vegetarian for quicker results.
No, not really. According to BMI (very flawed metric, I know), I'm about 70-80 pounds overweight. I'd like to lose about 30-40 pounds.
The thing that's preventing me from losing the weight is stress eating. I've had a lot going on the last couple of years, and I've turned to food as a coping mechanism of sorts.
Maybe some day I can get the willpower to stop turning to food so often 🤞
Omg! I know how you feel. I struggle with stress eating as well. I've had to limit my feeding time between 4pm and 8pm to ensure I eat mindfully and don't snack throughout the day.
Thank you for taking the time to explain your answer and for participating in the follow up question. I appreciate it.
Nope. If only there was a way for you to give me those 10 lbs. Lol I love your choice of gifs. Nothing is keeping me from gaining, it's just a slow process. Eventually we will achieve our goals once we are determined.
Oh you can have it!!! Lol. Loved your opinion. Thank you for the amazing feedback.
I would like to lose another 2kg (around 4.5 lbs). I find it easier to maintain my flat tummy when I am 55 kg and below. Now I am 57kg. I have lost 10 kg last year and now it looks like I gotta work harder before I reach the weight plateau.
Congrats on your weight loss! I'm sure you'll be successful with your goals.
Used to weight 115 kgs (250 lbs) ... Went on a diet 2 years ago... Got it down to 90... Now im maintaining it at 80 kgs (175 lbs)
Im 181 cm tall so yeah im suuper happy and i regret not losing this weight earlier
Congrats on the weight loss! Very impressive 👏
I normally have very little time to rest after work, so I found a practical answer in the form of CBD from this site This wonderful medicine quickly calms my anxieties and allows me to fully rest. I just lie down on the couch and take the CBD medicine
CBD is great for nearly everything. And a busy schedule makes it sooo difficult to meet weight loss goals.
I need to gain a few more lbs in my opinion. Working from home has definitely helped me out though. Maybe I should cut back on the upper deckers and reverse kangas.
Oh I see! Increase calorie intake and exercise simultaneously so you can gain muscle.
Whoa 😳 😵
Not happy. I'm not fat but I'm far from my high school track body. My current focus is on school and making money but I'll have time to better manage myself over the summer
Same here. School has been extremely writing intensive this semester and takes up all my leisure time.
I am but I'm not happy with my muscle tone or lack thereof. I need to eat more to build that muscle, but I don't have that appetite, I'm stupid but I'll figure it out!
You're not stupid! Muscle building and toning is difficult without a personal trainer guiding you.
Yea I like my weight currently, makes my body look good and plus I don't wanna have to buy all new clothes if I did lose some lol.
Nice!
Sort of, i don't have a belly or anything. But I'm sort of out of shape still :p well compared to what it was hehe. Lots going on and little time to workout in the same way.
I completely understand! Life can be so busy it's difficult finding time and energy for fitness goals.
Not at all
I should lose 3 kg and it’s really difficult because every day I eat cookies, ice cream, a lot for dinner and can’t eat healthy
My willing has gotten weak unfortunately
Snacks taste so good! I understand your dilemma
Naah, I am already broken.
I like to gain more but these genes and higher metabolism rate keep my food burning like hell.
I need to increase but it won't naturally.
Doctors said it too.
That has to be difficult trying to gain weight with such a great metabolism.
Giggles 😂🤭
I'm satisfied with what I weigh, though it would be okay if I lost 5-10 pounds (2-4 kg).
Same here. I want to lose maybe 10lbs before bikini season officially starts.
My stomach or waist its just a little big. For my size it should be about 24, t moment a shade over 26..
Thank you for participating in the follow up. I appreciate it.
I am very unhappy about my weight. I am about 270lbs and I want to be around 220-230lbs. I just don't have the motivation and will power to stick with loosing weight. Also, too many temptations from food to alcohol.
Food is my weakness too. Especially sugary treats. 🧁
I'm not unhappy with my weight but I wouldn't mind losing a little bit of weight
Thank you for the honest feedback
no trying to lose weight stop drinking soda and candy more fish and chicken and salad anf walking now that I am retired
Those are great diet changes. Sometimes cutting back on sugar can be difficult.
No, I am not. Since my divorce I have lost weight, but now I have another issue that will likely require surgery. That'll be number 8. So my workouts have slowed considerably.
Oh I see! I'm sorry to hear about the separation. I hope you're healing okay both emotionally and physically.
Just 25 lbs to go. I’m already down 15 so the rest should be a piece of (fat-free) cake.
Congrats on your weight loss! That's excellent progress
No I’d like to tone up a little. I do exercise and am very active. But what prevents me is. I love beer.
Diet has been the hardest thing for me to change when it comes to my fitness goals. I hate giving up things I love.
So true! I struggle most with moderation. Sometimes popsicles taste so good you have to keep going back for more.
I have to say am just happy with my physique but I wana add on like 10kgs on top of my current weight. Need to step up on the diet. @secret6620
Very nice! Adding muscle can be difficult but very rewarding.
Yeah lol that is what am Interested in. Because right now I am 75kgs so I Wana hit 93kgs at least.
I am close to my summer weight. i weigh 176, summer 170. Just under 6 feet tall. Winter months we eat comfort food and pie etc...
Me too! And during the winter I hate leaving home to walk to the gym. It's so cold and I prefer to stay warm in bed.
I've put on 5 kgs and am kinda depressed. Although I'm well within my ideal BMI, but still...
Don't be depressed! Just turn it into muscle whenever you get to the gym.
Very nice!
Yes I m ok with my 57kg
And I m trying to maintain by doing yoga and exercise.
I love fitness. Especially yoga.
💜💜
I could lose a few pounds around the middle. It's that middle age spread that's catching up to me.
Oh I see! That's completely normal.
My goal weight is actually around 200 lbs. However I want that to be muscle not fat. I have some fat I need to burn off.
Oh I see! 200lbs of muscle would look amazing.
Actually I’m a little over weight it’s not horrible but I can definitely tell the difference I gained 20 lbs…
Thank you for explaining your answer. And that doesn't sound bad at all.
Hi !!! I’ve always been around 185lbs I carried that weight pretty well every through my army days. Ahhh got a little older I’m a truck driver yea I gained around 22lbs in a couple of years. Folks say I look good but I tell carrying it around. I don’t have a belly whatsoever just weight all over.🤷
I'm sure you look great! Don't be so hard on yourself
Yes I am and you better stay right where you are trust me when I say you look AMAZING!!!
Blushes! Thank you.
Does that mean you're taking my advice and staying just the way you are
I wish lol. I need to lose like 10 more lbs.
I'm gonna message you
I ended up compensating - lack of sleep for working out now
Thank you for participating in the follow up question! I appreciate it.
I hope you had a happy Tuesday!
Oh I see. I'm sorry to hear that. I hope you can get more sleep
Very true lol
I’m ok with it. I am pretty active so my weight goes up and down like a whores panties anyway.
Ahahaha "like a whore's panties" 🤣 😂
I am working on it, I was at 230 now I am down to 206 I want to get to 175.
Congrats on the weight loss!
Take your time! Can't rush these things
Yes, I'm lucky I don't have to workout yet !
Very nice!
Motivation and not want to spend money for a subscription to help lose weight because I’m working three different jobs to make a fund for college. And I’m putting 50% of my money into that fund.
No. I'd like to weigh what I did in boot camp.
I know how that is. I still weigh what I did in bootcamp but it takes a lot of effort and time to maintain such a low weight.
You're doing fantastic! That's definitely weight loss success
No, I want lose 60 lbs - 70 lbs I lack motivation
Thank you for sharing your thoughts on both the main question and follow up question! I really appreciate it
@secret6620 You're Welcome :) :)
Diabetes, arthritis, motivation.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts on the follow up. I appreciate it.
some days yes some days nope
I know exactly how you feel!
I need to lose a few lbs.
Okay! Me too
Since I lost 25 pounds yes I am very happy.
Omg! That's a milestone 👏 Congrats on your weight loss
I weight 180 for 185cm height
Are you happy with that or is there something you'd like to change?
Very nice!
I am 183 lbs and perfectly satisfied
Yay!
i'm 6'1 185, I was 170 a month and a half ago
its bulking season
Oh nice! 👏
Hell no. I've got a lot still to lose
Me too! I think 10 lbs of fat would be perfect for myself. And maybe gain 5lbs of muscle to help with tone. Then I'll be happy 😊
I want a lot of muscle too. Easier said than done
Soooo true! It is not easy building muscle. It's much easier to burn fat.
Yeah I'm very happy and I'm ok with it
Awesomeness
I'm happy with mine
Yay!
I'm good with where I'm at.
