I don't have a specific provider. My primary care physician is a male. However, 90% of the time when I am seen it is one of his female PAs. Several years ago I underwent a cardiac catheterization procedure. They placed one of those outside the penis condom-like catheters on me. When the nurse was finished after all was over I asked her if she wanted to share a smoke. I also call female Phlebotomists vampires and have been noted to ask them to save some blood for me. Without coming off like some pervert, if a medical provider puts hands-on I really rather they are female.

Don't really matter unless there's ball'fondling to be done or some other crotch examination.. then I am unsure what is worse/better..
Any guy around my area.. uugh- a bit weird ye.
A hot woman in my private area... uuhm how to keep calm..
An unattractive woman, ugh..

I mean if it matters at all there's always a downside anyway. Soo.. don't care about your gender/sex. Do your job.

Both have been clueless af. I’ve been to like 7 different docs with the majority being women and none are helpful. I’ve watched these people google shit right in front of me when i asked them a question. I may as well go home and be my own doc... which I am for the most part. My grandpa and I like to live by faith rather than experimental medications

Growing up, my doctor was same sex and I appreciated that. I had some bad experiences as a younger girl with a creepy old male dermatologist.

As an adult, most of my GPs have been men and I don't mind it. They're professional, and treat me with compassion and respect.

I prefer same sex but it's not a dealbreaker if my family/general doc is the opposite sex. In fact my current family doctor is a man and he's pretty nice. I had an appointment with him last week. However, I want an obgyn of the same sex. I don't want a man (other than a partner or spouse) seeing all my private parts lol.

My current PCP is a female. It's been a good experience. She listens very well. Seems unfazed by the 20 minute time slot. That hasn't always been my experience with a male doctor. I certainly don't have enough experience to generalize. If I were to need to find a new primary care, I'd probably favor a woman based upon my current experience.

It depends. Last time I went to a gynecologist the doctor was a man in his 50s I didn’t like the experience. He was trying to use humor to make me feel comfortable but it turned out in so many inappropriate jokes I thought it was very unprofessional. I’m never going back to that doctor and next time I’ll make sure to mention I’d like to be seen by a female ob-gyn doctor.

Doctors are so desensitized to the human body they really don’t care. I prefer female because in my mind they tend to be more caring and remember me immediately. I did once have a very old fashioned Russian female doctor who was so direct and blunt I felt a bit emasculated and never returned.

When I was a kid, I much preferred seeing male doctors (I was very uncomfortable being in my underwear in front of female doctors, but having them check my penis was always very embarrassing for me as I would sometimes get erections when they did so…🤣). Now, I don't really care!

my own sex only, especially for anything critical. A female or minority doctor might be the best smartest doctor in the world but they might also be a doctor who was not good enough to qualify except for the lowering of standards granted to them via affirmative action. There's really no way to tell and I'm not taking chances when it comes to somebody cutting a hole in my chest!

I have a local doctor I visit when I do not want to travel to my old doctor 40 minutes away and I think the local one is a pervert so I never talk to him about menstrual pain - I call my friends on the phone instead.

I don’t really care as long as it’s a competent doctor. I didn’t have good experiences with the women who were our family docs growing up, but found good docs, both men, on my own later.

I have been misdiagnosed by two male doctors. I think make doctors let their egos get in the way. They thought they knew better than what my body was telling me. They didn’t listen to me and they almost killed me in the process. At least my female doctor listens to me and hasn’t misdiagnosed me yet.
