Did you know that some studies have found an IUD at least as effective at preventing pregnancy as tubal ligation aka "getting the tubes tied"?

According to a study reported in the Journal of General Internal Medicine IUDs are at least as effective at preventing pregnancy as tubal ligation. https://www.ucsf.edu/news/2022/02/422321/tubal-ligation-no-better-iud-preventing-pregnancy#:~:text=Published%20Feb.,copper%20IUDs%20were%20as%20effective. Whether you believe in abortion rights or not it's important to know that pregnancy is a risk with penis in vagina sexual intercourse even with some forms of sterilization as the article points out. I only point this out because I see people on both sides of the debate keep saying "why not use birth control" without considering the failure rates.
Yes, I knew this.
No, I did not know this.

So I actually had heard this a few years ago but hadn’t seen any studies until seeing this article. So much for tubal ligation being permanent sterilization.
