So I finally caught Covid. When did you catch it and how hard was it?

After escaping all this time, it finally "caught up" to me.

I felt pretty crappy 2 days ago but I didn't think it could be corona, since I was having some other problems.

Yesterday I woke up with a headache and my body was hurting all over. Still thought it's a normal day (morning headaches are normal for me), until I went to pee and found out I can hardly move my body and I was dizzy and had a vertigo.

Went back to bed and I've been in bed a day and half fighting fever. Only thing I could do was to call my guy and he sent a nurse. I'd be starving and a lot worse if it wasn't for her. But my fever is better now after a day and a half.

Corona really messed up my social life for years and now that I'm going out almost every day I caught it, even though I'm vaccinated. Don't know what to do with it.

So I finally caught Covid. When did you catch it and how hard was it?

I never had covet in my life but my mother and father had it. My mom had it for 3 weeks and her symptoms were as bad if she barely went to the doctor she took a lot of medicine and my dad he was in the hospital for a bit I would say about 3 weeks also but we caught it early his first symptom was he couldn't breathe and he had fluid in his lungs and they took it out of his lungs after a couple days and he got better in both of my parents are still out today I thank God for both of them for being alive my parents have very strong immune systems and they have given those strong abuses to both me and my siblings to where we barely get sick we're going to get sick me like once every 5 to 10 years most of the time not at all so covid all it is is this another version of the flu just a little bit more severe you're not going to die from it you'll be fine but watch out for your symptoms and catch them early if your symptoms go on for too long you should go to the doctor and see what they can do for you and don't wait too long cuz you could hurt yourself more in the process my dad would have died if we didn't catch it soon we took my dad to the doctor 2 days after he said he couldn't breathe the first day we thought he'll probably get over it and he had a ventilator on see if it can break down from the fluid but it didn't happen the first day really would definitely have taken him the second day which we did and got better after the course of maybe like one or two weeks we are very blessed family and I thank God for blessing my family I pray for them everyday and if you have any severe symptoms like I said before please contact your doctor local hospital not go to a clinic go to a hospital so they can get you checked out even though it's going to be more expensive than the clinic but that's what you need to survive this covid and covid is nothing to worry about it's just to help you only if COVID gets too severe for your body. by the way the government did make covid and they did bring back monkeypox so they can lower down the population of the world just so people know and it's true.

I was hospitalised August 2021 with covid, it knocked me on my a*se I really struggled for several weeks after.

I have now been diagnosed with long covid and have to go to respiratory physio monthly, to teach myself to breath with my diaphragm again as since contracting covid I have been breathing with my chest.

My oxygen levels keep dropping too and my vitamin D and folic acid levels won't hold so I have to take supplements daily.

I have improved massively though, I am able to work my 40hrs over the normal working week rather than spreading it out over seven days and if I have a bad day I just work from home to conserve energy.

I got COVID about 3 weeks ago. I may have gotten it after visiting a convenience store I normally don’t go to. Nobody in there had a mask.

Anyway, I was fully vaccinated as well.

Then… The symptoms began: headache, LOTS of fatigue, drowsiness, body aches, chills, sore throat, coughing…

For about the first 2-3 days I was pretty much just sleeping and resting a lot. Even if I sat up, I needed to lay back down shortly after because it would make me feel tired.

I think my symptoms sort of plateaued around day 4-5, not necessarily getting better or worse.

I took a couple days off work. Which was just barely enough. Good thing I work remotely though, so I didn’t need to worry about being contagious.

Afterward, symptoms started to improve and everything gradually got better, the last symptom to leave being coughing.

I mostly focused on resting, staying hydrated, and staying warm.

I tested positive, but it wasn’t too different from a normal flu. Perhaps the vaccination helped what would have been a terrible flu, become a tolerable flu.

After about 2 weeks, I no longer had any symptoms. 🎉

1st off, I usually get some not very fun flu once a year. Or every other year. Maybe every 2-3 years I'm knocked out for a solid week. So maybe my immune cells just laughed at COVID & said, "You think you're tough? You ain't tough... we kicked the azz of 100 other viruses. Check the scoreboard, bitch." & COVID ran off. Haven't had it that I know of. Same is true of my wife. We have seen a lot of people get it who were at the same parties we've been to tho. And I don't wear masks or anything.

i got positive on last Monday , first day is a torture , i have really high fever and can't sleep until morning. today i was much better , my nose is still full of snot though lol

i am not sure how did i get it though , perhaps from coworker , i just want to fcous on healing , and dont want to think hard about how it happen

i got vaccinated twice and booster once last year , i wear face mask all the time outside , always use hand sanitizer after i touch something outside , but still got the covid

I think I had it, but never got tested to verify it b/c I've had bronchitis these past 2 years. In Oct of '19 I got tested but it was negative. The next winter I had the flu and bronchitis. Then last winter I had bronchitis again which turned into a walking pneumonia type, so maybe that was COVID! I don't know.. I just took this penicillin they sell on the black market here from Mexico and an elderberry syrup. I was good in 2 days. I am not getting the Vax tho bc I know people that got it and still got sick again. I just need to quit smoking LOL. If I did get COVID, it's prolly b/c I smoke or b/c I have anemia b/c that messes up ur immune system.

I caught it within a week of it hitting the UK and not realising how serious it really could be. I decided to ride it out at home when really I should have gone to hospital. My partner said that's the worst she's ever seen me and I have to agree. It was the sickest I have ever felt. I still haven't fully recovered. I am more lethargic now.

My partner has never had it. Every single person at her work has had it. She jokes that she wants it as everyone else got paid time off if they tested positive (and still do get full pay for two weeks to stay at home even if you just test positive and show no symptoms) and she has never had it. She's quite annoyed about it lol

My grandparents caught COVID, they said the felt like a bus hit them for about a week.

My mom caught COVID, she was in bed for a week, she said she felt like someone had a 2ton stone placed on her.

My SO caught COVID, he said he felt like he was drowning, damn near on deaths door.

I caught COVID & I could barely function. Everything hurt, breathing hurt.

My brother caught COVID & he felt like it was the worst flu he ever had.

It's not pleasant & thank goodness we were all vaccinated, except my SO (he got it bad when it first came around), when we caught it.

I think I possibly got it three times, and every time after the holidays (family gatherings) in 2020/21/22...

only the first time was a bit more noticeable, like a mild case of the flu which I usually ignore, I just pill up with acetaminophen and go on with my day...

being my own boss and working mostly ay my home, I never really had anyone asking me for tests and proof and all that, so I never really got any kind of tests to confirm, but close people, coworkers and family, relatives got their positive tests at the same time I caught a bug so I just assume it was the corona as well... lol

so, thankfully, for me... it felt just like any other time I had a three day common cold

I caught it in Sept/Oct of 2020 from work. Most of the company was still working from home except my group and a few others. We all caught it within a day of each-other and we were all out for several weeks. I definitely had it worse than anyone else I knew. Aside from the first 3 days the fever was definitely the worst part. Had it on and off for 10-12 days.

On the plus side you’re basically safe for at least 60-90 days. My second and third times were a lot milder, both “Omicron” or whatever milder strain was going around last year and this spring. Just really rough because of all the time I missed from work.

I got it recently. I'm still in the process of recovery. It absolutely sucked. I mean who enjoys being sick, so kind of a moot point. I'm still coughing after 3 weeks and I'm having issues with my voice after getting Laryngitis during the second week of Covid. We've all heard about Covid for so long now, that I'm not even going to lie, when I got it, I was just sort of relieved in a weird way because for the two weeks I was positive, I thought, well I can't actually get Covid right now because I have it. First time in 2+ years, there hasn't been that what if question in my mind.

I’ve had it twice. Each time I got a fever which I slept off, and a sore throat. I was over it in a day or two.

It’s strange to me that the people who report the worst symptoms are vaccinated. I’m unvaccinated.

I actually wonder if it’s psychological. I mean, it’s not nice to have it but it seems like the people who were never afraid of it see it as no big deal because they assume that they’re gonna get through it, whereas those who have been afraid of it panic a little bit once they do get it.

Two of my sisters, my nephew, my niece and my father had it. A friend of mine caught it this year and my mother had a friend who died from it.

I suspect I had it in 2020 but I can't say for sure since I never got tested. I regret not doing taking a test. Then everyone at home got sick. I was exhausted, lost my appetite, felt weak, had headaches and I couldn't stop coughing for 3 weeks.

My sisters, my nephew, my niece and my friend all had mild symptoms and fortunately after 2 weeks they tested negative.

Being sick is never good but I'm sure you'll get well soon.

I got it a few months back due to my parents brining it back from Greece. I was pretty annoyed as 2 years without wearing a mask as I can't and nothing.

I was off work for a week It was like having a chest infection but it just wiped all my energy SK I spelt a lot.

I've never gotten COVID. Not vaccinated either. But only me and three other people at my job didn't. EVERYONE ELSE did, at one point or another. (We teach kids, so they probably got it from them.)

I didn't even notice it the first time, so it was indistinguishable from a minor seasonal allergy. I only found out after an antibody test (which I don't fully trust but whatever).

The second time was like a slightly worse than average flu, but the really crappy part only lasted for about half a day and feeling down for another day+.

I think I had it (omicron) in January. I sounded like a man and my throat hurt like hell, and my head was hurting and had chills and mild fever and flu. I was sent home 😂. I was too weak to lift a light dumbbell. I was in bed for a week. Then I’m fine again yay 😁.

Same. Had two really bad days where I was constantly sweating, body aches, dizziness and of course... A cough. Dad had it first and he spread it to everyone else in the family. I didn't think much of it because I've been in worse pain in the past but apparently I had COVID. This was about a month and a half ago.

my mom got it then my dad so of course I got it too. runny nose and coughing was the worst. even after I was negative I was coughing. And in my class I was sooo self concious I preferred drowning and waiting rather than coughing in front of 40 people. or walking in front of them all to go to the bathroom.

I am still "on the run" from COVID... as in I still have not gotten it. I had TONS of tests, especially when it was a huge new thing and every single time, I was negative. I've never felt any symptoms or anything. I am NOT vaccinated either. I'd say either I haven't had it or I had a really mild, asymptomatic case at some point. Either way, I am content with the outcome for me so far during this pandemic.

I was in the same boat you are, I got an after all the restrictions were lifted. Never had one of the shots. I felt like crap on a Saturday and a Sunday and I went back to work Monday. I'm a truck driver so I come in contact with very few people.

I had it in January or February. The worst of it was a headache and congestion that lasted 4-5 days, but my cough persisted for weeks. My employer at the time was working in a skool, so they couldn’t have anyone on site with any covid symptoms. So i was off for two weeks even though i felt fine.

I had it around last Christmas. Not vaccinated. It was just like really bad flu, but lasted longer. You go through the symptoms in stages. First comes sore throat, headache, fever, fatigue. Sore throat, headache goes after a couple of days. The fever gradually dies down over a few days. Then the coughing starts. The fatigue lasts a week or more. The weirdest thing was change in sense of smell (I had no change in taste but some do). The most annoying thing was the coughing.

From my experience, the advice I would give you is:

1. Stay in bed and rest. Do not attempt any work.

2. Take some Alka-Seltzer/Lemsip/Theraflu every day to ease the symptoms.

3. Open the windows and leave them open to let fresh air circulate.

4. Eat small amounts regularly.

5. Drink water regularly to keep hydrated.
