Thankfully the timing isn't terrible!
Well after 3 years of not catching it I've finally caught covid. Anyone else not had it yet/only just gotten it?

Thankfully the timing isn't terrible!
I cannot say for certain if I've had it yet but I don't think so.
My friends and family have all caught it at one point or another and I've been around some of them while they were infected, but I've never had symptoms of any kind.
I took care of my nephew when my sisters household all got infected because both her and her husband were essentially taken out of commission for over a week while you know kids... hyperactive little shits whether they're sick or not.
Knock on wood; I don't get sick. It's been over a decade.
are you vaccinated and is it severe?
Doesn't get bad til around day 8... un vaccinated.
Interesting it's still drifting around... I know of people whom got it not long ago and died... unvaccinated. I know of some whove got it again and again... vacced.
I'm vaccinated. Not severe just a swollen throat, stiff neck and headaches
ok, hope you feel better soon.
I haven’t had it yet, wearing a KN95 mask everywhere, mostly avoiding public areas and staying away from friends after they attend public events/areas has helped to stay covid-free so far. But I’m travelling to Wellington for Easter Weekend so I know I’ll be much more at risk compared to staying in my town 😬
I got lucky and didn't catch it after my boyfriend did, even though we live together. Hope you enjoy your stay, any specific plans?
Mostly just revisiting my favourite food places from when I lived there, aswell as doing some shopping and visiting Te Papa. Wanting to see if there’s any new exhibits from the last 2 years.
Yeah there's a couple, don't know if you've seen the new nature area? The Mataaho Collective is pretty neat though they weren't all displayed amazingly. If you look at it the one named Tauira, if you look at it from certain angles it catches the light and looks iridescent.
Is that the area with all the insects pinned to the walls and the prehistoric animals on display? Or is this a new nature exhibit?
Yeah they redid it like mid 2019
I *may* have just finally had if a few weeks ago. Really just a cough that lasted a week and a half or so. Only a day or two where I really felt sick and had some hot and cold flashes. May have been something else though, not sure. If I ever had it before that, I didn't get any symptoms.

Our immune systems were designed to become stronger through exposure. Thus those who think that hiding away is going to help are going against nature. Thus you are only weakening your immune system and lessening it's ability to function correctly. I've no idea how people have forgotten decades of logic. More oxygen is also key to killing any viruses and yet people think masking up and using KN95 is going to help. The COVID tests aren't tests either, they are designed to do something else, as is the 'vaccine'.
Oh yeah? Please elaborate?
When you're exposed to a virus, the load isn't always strong or large enough to give you an infection, and there is also an incubation period. When you are exposed your immune system will learn how to defend against it. But what do you think is going to happen when you spend time hiding... but then one day you come into contact with a viral load that is big enough to cause an infection? Your immune system won't know what to do. There are ways around this and mysteriously.. all of them are labelled as dangerous, non working or a hoax.
Many just don't realize not everything is as it seems. Masks are promoted more than immune modulators, minerals, nutrition and exercise... should a piece of cloth be promoted more than that?
It seems people have forgotten basic commonsense. If oxygen kills all viruses, why would anyone be covering their means to breath freely?
Who said I was hiding? I was asking you to elaborate on the last part actually.
What a crock! So many lies. If oxygen killed viruses there would be no airborne viruses, but there are. Measles is one of the viruses that has killed millions.
It is estimated 3 to 4 million people in the United States were infected each year. Also each year, among reported cases, an estimated 400 to 500 people died, 48,000 were hospitalized, and 1,000 suffered encephalitis (swelling of the brain) from measles. Now, very few people—about three out of 100—who get two doses of measles vaccine will still get measles if exposed to the virus and the effects are much less for them.
Smallpox is now considered eradicated. It was eradicated by vaccination. But before that happened, it was one of the deadliest diseases known to man. 3 out of every 10 people who got it died. People who survived usually had scars, which were sometimes severe. Vaccination protected people and now we are free of that disease.
If anyone is not familiar with the effects of polio, Google it. We have eliminated it in the US, but it still exists in some other countries. Widespread vaccination is what eliminated it here since 1979.
You aren't making your immune system stronger by exposure to those diseases. You are killing yourself!
@Red_Arrow It's not as simple as that. Virus that are airborne are encased in droplets that offer them some protection. Once this dries out they deteriorate due to being exposed to oxygen. Some virus adapt to try to protect themselves from oxygen by using catalase to resist the oxygen. But only living organism have adequate amounts to resist for long. Therefore it is basic common sense to get enough oxygen. And when we breath through the nose, Nitric Oxide is produced that travels to the lungs killing pathogens as well.
But what you have failed to notice is the subtle change with how vaccines are being used now, Vs back when there were measles and other serious disease. What may have begun as a way to save lives / mankind and avoid death is no longer the same. It is now the opposite. This is why it's such a powerful way of tricking others. For a very long time, vaccines have been used for good. It's difficult to detect any change over from them being used for the opposite.
And this is why so many will be unaware until it's too late.
😂😂 Jesus what are you smoking
Oh wow. yeah i had it last month and this is way after when i was still driving out to deliver food and working at a home depot before a vaccine ever came out. somehow i managed to not get it during that time.
Well get plenty of rest, drink lots of water. if you lose your taste or smell don't worry mine came back maybe a week after i tested negative again.
Mine seems very mild so far. Had a coughing fit Friday night, which made me go oop I should get some covid tests so I ordered a couple boxes and picked them up after work Saturday. Then took one just in case and it was neg, took one Sunday Morning neg. Just took one an hour ago and it was a faint positive.
damn. well give it at least a week before you test again. thats what my mom made me do anyways lol. she was a nurse. yeah the coughing sucked. i had a lot of those annoying phlegm coughs too where there's a lot of phlegm buildup in my throat. wasn't pleasant.
I get these moments where it feels like I literally cannot swallow/feels like I'm trying to swallow my tongue. It's such a weird feeling
damn that sucks... well on the plus side you may lose some weight. i remember losing about ten pounds... from not eating much lol...
Fully vaccinated and been extremely careful, wearing a mask and gloves pretty much everywhere. I've had it four times. One of those times was late 2019 early 2020 before people talked about it. That was my most severe time having it. Couldn't breathe. Was working as a barista and lost my job after being extremely sick for 7 days. The other three times were all pretty severe too, but I could breathe at least. Only time my sense of taste disappeared was last time, which was in January this year.
I've never gotten it. I'm not high risk though. I don't go out a lot these days. Plus I've always had a good immune system. For example I think I've only gotten one cold in the last 25 years or so. Even when I was still working in an office surrounded by people with colds, I never got them. I guess I'm lucky. Some people get sick all the time. That would suck.
I had January 2022's Omicron strain. Hit like meningitis, then turned into imitation Parkinson's, then began to feel like dementia. Then turned into satyriasis, then a respiratory infection, weird sweats, horrific chills, weakness, and then I finally got over it.
Long covid gave me 9 terrible months of hyer-reactive skin, resulting in getting hives often for seemingly no reason. I became allergic to almost everything, including oats and dog fur. I'm slowly returning to normal.
Officially I haven’t caught it yet but during the second wave my whole family caught a bad cold which lasted for 3 days so I’m not sure if I had any experience with the virus or if it was common cold. Anyway try taking all the medication for recovery and have ginger tea everyday.
I had it and honestly I've had colds that were worse. Really the only thing that sucked about it or that was annoying was how weak it made my body physically as far as moving around went but I recovered from that overtime as well.
I haven’t had it. Still wear a mask everywhere though and avoid people cause my oldest daughter got it at her dads and it almost took her out. Her lungs are fucked up so it wouldn’t be good if she got it again. Hope you feel better soon🖤
Yeah last year March or it was the prior year, I'm not sure, I had it once and it wasn't bad for me, just had a sore throat for a few days
Get well soon!
I’m sorry you’ve caught C19. That virus is vicious. I’ve had it twice. I caught it for the first time in March 2020. I still have unexplained lingering side effects from the first infect that haven’t resolved.
I haven't had it, not for lack of listening to the news. I don't wear the masks they tell me, I wear the one I want. Not for corona... because people just stink. Aaand still just fine. So thank god for that.
I've has it at least once, maybe twice. When I had it the first time, it trailed me with symptoms for more than two months. It only emerged when I had a companion septic UTI two years ago. Praise G0d that I am still above the ground.
Not yet but I’m sure I’ve had it, maybe just asymptomatic? Scared of it though, heard some horror stories but most of my fam has been lucky somehow. Fingers crossed it stays that way!
Same here... I have had all my shots and been fairly careful and just got it last week. Uggg to go three years without it and then get it kinda sucks.
You probably had it but we’re immune so didn’t get symptoms before. I had it when it was new the only thing I had was lose of smell so I wouldn’t have even noticed if my husband hadn’t bought me perfume at the same time.
I got hit in December for the first time. Lucky enough it didn’t hit me too hard. But still hard enough I didn’t make it home for Christmas.
Had it but it was no worse than the normal flu. It just lasted longer. Other than that, no lasting ill effects.
I got it last year , was home for 5 days only.
I have to stay home for 7 days
Had fever for 2 days, light cough for another 2 days then it was over. I don't like being sick and staying at home. I am a gamer though 😁 bit i like to go out , with covid i barley could take a 10 minutes walk.
I got it every year... probably caught it this year as well, but nobody testing for it anymore
I still haven't had it. I go everywhere without a mask these days. Malls, gas stations, restaurants, public transport during peak times, you name it. Just lucky not to encounter it yet.
Haven't had a vax in over a year now too.
