I don't remember when the hallucinations started, but I do remember the first big impact. I was lying on the floor screaming, trying to protect myself from the flames around me. And my father came and saved me. He said they weren't real. He said I'll be fine.
Later, the hallucinations increased. My dad started picking me up from the basement in the backyard when I was in crisis.
My father kept telling me to see a doctor. He said that if I went to the doctor, the problem would be solved. I wasn't feeling sick, but when the hallucinations got too much, I saw a doctor.
After talking for about an hour, the doctor made a diagnosis.
"You have post-traumatic stress disorder because you lost your family in a traffic accident when you were little"
He gave me some medicine. In time, the hallucinations disappeared... So did my father.
