What is some trauma that you have experienced?

• Living with a Vietnam Vet with PTSD.
• Watching your father attack your mom
• Being diagnosed with Ehlers Danlos Syndrome
• Having brain surgery
• Losing my Mom to stage 4 rectal cancer at 55.
• Losing my Father at 62.
• Not having any immediate family living.
• Going into a home where a Father bludgeoned 3 elementary school kids.

Abusive relationship, bullying, natural disasters, seeing parents having breakdowns

My house burned down when I was a teenager. I’m not sure if that counts as a natural disaster.

If it was caused by extreme heat causing wildfires then yeah. If it was something else then no not natural disaster, but still a valid trauma.

my sister died when I was 14

I was raped when I was 15

I grew up with an abusive father who left me

That’s terrible. How does the trauma effect you now?

I’m not sure if it does affect me anymore.
Then again I’ve never been to therapy or anything so maybe I just never got the chance to properly process the trauma.
The molestation as a kid was something I blocked out and didn’t even really remember until I was a teenager. Even then I just brushed it off.
The rape fucked me up for a while. My dad leaving also messed me up. but we talk now and I’ve had some closure from that
I was definitely depressed and suicidal from those events at the time.
But I think I’m in an okay place mentally at the moment.
