What is the cause of Asperger's?

I was doing research, and saw that there are things that people with asperger's tend to have in common...

1) excess of synaptic connections between neurons in the brain

2) gastrointestinal defects

Does anyone have a theory of why these things tend to coincide with lack of social awareness in people with Asperger's?

I come from a long line of Asperger's cases. I think that most have GI problems due to social stress, GI problems interfere with serotonin production. My brother has it, my cousin had it, my dad had it, his dad had it. My son may have it. I have ADD/HD but seen keenly aware of social issues. My brother has Menier's as well. I am type one diabetic but with late appearance of sequelae.

Could be exacerbated by it I presume. However, I started having symptoms of it when I was 5 and I was hardly a stressed child.

One thing my brother and I noticed. We have IQ's of 130 and above. We both have small hat sizes. Neuronal Cramping? Not enough insulation between the circuits. I mean any electrical engineer will tell you that cramped circuits are more inclined to short. So is this due to early closure of cranial fissures?

My brother has located a physician who is interested in collecting our DNA, I do want to participate. the Up note on this discussion is my Granddaughter. My Granddaughter started having problems in the 5th grade. My daughter found a school for her that was headed by a PhD in Child Psychology who Doctoral thesis was on forms of autism. I took money out of my retirement to pay her tuition. she it graduating this year from High School with two years of college completed. She finished her high school requirements early and stayed with the school to teach and knock out an Associate in Arts. Wants to be a Veterinarian.

Wow, that's great. Yeah, I think it has to do with the neurons having an excess of connections that usually get eliminated before birth, something like that.
