Yes and no. Depends on your goals. Cardio is great for cardio vascular health. Lifting weights puts on more muscle but just like fat increase load on heart. (Not the same way as increase cholesterol and risk of clots) but more muscle means more blood needs to be pumped. Cardio is great to stay healthy but can affect muscle growth if not eating properly. Recommend to eat about 1g of protein for every pound you weigh in order to build muscle and reduce muscle loss from cardio. Cardio takes energy to burn and if you’re not eating enough it will pull energy from muscle resulting in reduced muscle size. If looking to lose weight cardio burns more calories than weight training during workout but once your done you don’t burn more where with weight training you muscle form micro tears and takes about 24-72 hours to heal (soreness) where you end up burning more. Steady state cardio like walking on incline is best for burning calories (fat loss) while not pulling from muscles.
