Yep. They are very common in girls. Most get them at some point. So, consider yourself lucky if you never have. They can be caused by a number of reasons. I was fortunate not to have an issue during puberty, which is when a lot of girls get those types of infections.
At the risk of too much information, my periods were so bad when I was young, I was put on birth control medication to control my hormones. That could be the reason I didn’t get yeast infections during that time.
I did, however, get one during a course of antibiotics. They were very strong. It was not pleasant. I won’t get into the details, but I was given an oral medication to treat the infection. I also know there are topical medications that are prescribed for it too.
Point is, most women get them at some point. They are not dangerous and easily treated. Again, consider yourself lucky if you have never had one.

I might have had it once. I was dating this guy that used scented massage oil, that could be licked off, as lube as well.
And I got very itchy, and other symptoms were there as well, which I find a bit TMI.
Anyway, I got to the doctor, and they hardly saw anything and told me it was probably just that, but it was already getting better.
I didn't do anything, just let it rest for some time.
I never use any products in my area, just water, and my ph is usually as it should be because of that.

Going on antibiotics for any reason, can and often does cause them, because it kills the good bacteria and gets things out of balance.
