Why do people do drugs if it's bad for them/bad for their health? ? ?

Because they don't know how to handle stress and situation they feel they don't know how to fix OR they do it to forget about some painful things.. some traumatic memories. My friend knew this girl who got raped by group of guys. She couldn't tell what happened to her to her family and people who cared about her. She didn't even report it to the police and didn't seek help of a therapist. The memory was too painful for her and it was eating her alive so in order to escape that feeling she started doing drugs. It's extremely sad to hear that some people would rather take drugs or drink alcohol everyday than share things with people they trust and seek help.. but it is what it is.

While some people do it because they see their idols/celebs do it, their friends and the people in their neighbourhood do it and think it's cool thing to do and it's fun.

Yes I agree, they make their life's problems WORSE by doing that. How does popping pills solve anything, except maybe MASKING the situation, making you so drunk you might throw up or even OD and or addiction. Stupid is right. My ex was a drug addict and that no way helped our relationship become solid nor lasting!

From what I've seen... boredom, self-medicating, and social influences. If you're on a substance long enough, you'll find yourself doing it just to be normal and/or to avoid withdrawal... some drugs are worse in that department than others. Like, I don't believe there is withdrawal from marijuana, but I've had more than a few stoners tell me there is.

I myself am an alcoholic and always catch feeling for anything that will put me to sleep (no weed doesn't make me sleepy at all). I go through some shit, with vomiting and the whole 9 yards if I don't wean myself off.

I see. That's pretty sad. There were campaigns when I was growing up (one was called D. A. R. E.). It stood for Drug Abuse -or Awareness, Resistance Education. It's mission was to help kids say no to drugs and to KEEP them healthy and thriving as a result. I listened. I guess some people didn't! How stupid or stubborn and immature lol.

I remember DARE... I think it started when I was around 2nd grade. The cops would bring drugs in to show us and tell us what they do... for me... they made drugs sound awesome. Before the DARE program, I had no idea what drugs even were. Strange program in my opinion... I still remember them having us pass a bag of weed around so we could smell it.

That never happend in my school thankfully! How would passing DRUGS around benefit the children? Lol, they could just take a whiff or taste it/touch it unknowingly. That would have been dangerous!

The cops said it was so we could identify the smell if it's around and tell the cops on them... they were trying to turn us into little narcs. They had display cases with every drug you could think of so we could identify it.

Like I said, I never even knew what drugs were... after DARE though I was pretty much an expert. I could tell you in detail how to do them, what they looked like, the names and street names of everything... It was definitely not a scared straight sort of program for me.

Wow how terrible and sad that it did the opposite affect on you. It was SUPPOSED to keep you and other children AWAY from those things. Drugs do have the potential to kill you if overdosage, not to mention it's addictive. You, I am sure, have seen multiple lives RUINED just with those things alone!

I tried weed for the first time due to bad friends. I left those friends.

No, chocolate really isn't food, not unless you are at the North Pole.

You don't eat chocolate to sustain yourself, you eat chocolate because it tastes nice and drugs are the same except they are considerably more enjoyable than chocolate, hence the willingness to take on the increased costs and risks involved.

Besides, just as with chocolate most people can get away with pretty much anything in moderation.

But you can get too into it, its the same problems for the same reasons as chocolate, it becomes a habit, a crutch, it is taken to excess and not part of an otherwise healthy and balanced life style.

Chocolate CAN be addictive for sure, but I'm not that brave to risk brain damage just for some non-lasting high from drugs! The only ever drug that I took (back when I was dating a bad ex a few years ago), was weed. He didn't know that the dosage he gave was too much for me (and it was only HALF a jolly rancher lol). I ended up feeling dizzy, nauseaus and like the back of my head was on fire. I was so scared that that is how I was going to feel PERMANENTLY! I wanted him to take me to the E. R. but instead his dumb immature self, took me to the beach! It was still illegal at the time. Thank God I threw up around there and the affects of it wore off soon enough when we got back to his apartment complex. God that was awful.

I think I was either OD'ed or I was allergic to the THC. Because I hell ain't allergic to sugar and candy lol.
