No man made chemical on earth can be healthy or safe for you. There should not be any doubt about that. Do not listen to what doctors say because they have been trained to say that by the industry. Yes we need to weight the benefit vs harm trade off and act wisely. Life threatening harm is far worse that will make you lose hair at the age of 40.

It's been proven to keep your teeth healthier. I pay for a fluoride treatment every time I have a dental cleaning- I'm not the best at brushing my teeth, though I do brush regularly, and I rarely floss, but I haven't had any cavities. The only filling I have is for a pit that was already in a tooth when it came in.

Fluoride in mouthwash and toothpaste are okay it replaces calcium ions in enamel apatite with much more acid resistant fluorine ions. Too much fluoride in body can cause illnesses and ironically tooth decay.

What an odd question. Odd because it should be very non-controversial. There have been a shitload of studies on exactly WHY there is fluoride in toothpaste... and the very measurable benefits it provides.

I... don't know what prompted this question. But... it makes me concerned that you might be... watching a little too much Youtube... or hanging out with some folks who like to... um..."do their own research."

You are way to fucking cool to get caught up in that bullshit. There's pretty much one non-crazy answer to this question.

I'm not saying fluoride is "good for you." Like I'm sure it's toxic if you drank a glassfull. But, there's good sound scientific evidence for the benefits to putting it in toothpaste. And (as far as I'm aware) no evidence there is any "cause for alarm" about this... in any way whatsoever.

It would break my fucking heart to see you become a flat-earther or something. This is the very first question of yours that's ever caused me any concern on that front. Please... don't... lose your marbles. Again... you are way too fucking cool to be another fucking 5g fearing, chem-trail-talking, tin-foil hat motherfucker.

Just say no to crazy. Pleaase! 🙂

Anything that is to much can be bad for you a lot of people say fluoride is a man made chemical, from my research it is a naturally occurring element but typically produced in small amounts, I would say the bigger question is what are the proven effects of fluoride in high doses to the brain, with scans as proof which I am now curious to research.

Too much fluoride can weaken and breakdown tooth enamel all the toothpaste required is a bit about the size of a pea on your toothbrush.

Just another poison which breaches the blood brain barrier and accumulates over a lifetime. Amalgum fillings are bad too ugh but I was too poor for gold. If I ever need another filling I’m getting gold

Bad. Calcifies the brain and causes Alzheimer’s. I avoid it.

I heard it’s also used in tap water where I live which protects our teeth from corrosion.

Fluoride permeates through the upper wall in your mouth binds to nasal receptors which carry the ions to the brain which eventually reduces intelligence.
