Sleep, eating and exercise. Sticking to a routine no matter how hard it is that includes those three things combats a depression. You omit any one of those three you feed a depression and eventually it takes over

Finding something exciting, and slightly physically risky to do. I find physical risk puts other issues in life in perspective. (not too much risk - just enough to be aware of it)
Having someone to talk to but, seeing as how THAT never happens, I have to rely on music!
walking daily for about 20 minutes at my usual pace.
