Should I be scared about getting surgery tomorrow?

Basically around 2 months ago I broke my arm after falling on it hardly, and a few weeks ago my arm was healed and good. 2 days ago I broke my same arm after messing around playing basketball with my friends, for them trying to teach me how to do a layup. So then I went to go get a X-ray and all that. Then I got told I’m gonna have to go get surgery to help realign the bone with some stuff. I never had surgery before so when I heard that I froze in fear lmao.

Nothing to worry about. I have had 30 plugs surgeries in my life. Some have been major orthopedic surgeries and I have even had brain surgery. They are likely going to have some hardware but you will only notice it when it rains as you age. The best advice I can give is to follow what the surgeon says. If they tell you no basketball or physical activity then you need to listen because you will be back on the OR table and that is a guarantee. Best wishes tomorrow.

No. I get it, I had surgery a couple years. ago and had a metal plate put in my tibia. Luckily for me I had too many pre-op apps. to keep me busy that I never had anytime to worry till like 30 minutes before. What you're having done is so routine for your surgeon and as far as surgeries go is not considered major. Honestly don't even worry about it. Let the doctor do the worrying. Focus on keeping an eye on it afterward, keeping it clean, and the rehab you're going to have to do. If a problem arises it's more likely going to be post surgery than during.

Don't panic. I panicked the first surgery I had, and did not sleep a wink the night before. They will load you up with pain medication, and I would ask them to give you pain medication, before they send you to recoveryso you do not recover consciousness in pain

You'll be fine, they have all types of drugs to numb you up and even put you to sleep, you'll go to bed and wake up with it done lol 👍

That's is highly unlikely, there's people that have had problems and stayed up and felt everything but in very rare cases, you'll be fine Tia, don't stress it 😆

It will be fine. They'll probably put a few pins in to align the bones and you'll be good as new. Nothing to be scared about

I know it can be a bit scary, but you'll do fine. It is necessary so that your arm gets back to the previous state.
