I cut my thumb pretty bad and its been bleeding for the last 24 hours? Will I need stitches?

You should learn about DMSO. If you understand how to use that safely you can work miracles with it. But used wrongly it can cause serious damage or worse. I used it to heal my skin where there wasn't even anything but a hole and it had grown in the next day!

I recommend you read DMSO the Doctors Handbook by Archie H. Scott. But that's just for future info.

In your current case you could use iodine ointment and wound closure strips. Our body has a much more powerful ability to heal than we know. We've all been brain washed by Big Pharma since birth to underestimate it.

Put some of lip balm on the cut, and work it into the opening. Then wrap it with first aid adhesive tape and you might not have to get stitches.

I cut my toe a few days ago, and had a line of blood come out but quickly stopped.

Last year I cut my right foot good in two places, but it wasn't bad enough to go to an urgent care.

Your cut is still trying to heal, so it will bleed some afterwards still if you accidentally open it again by stretching the skin.

Just clean, disinfect it, and put bandages on it. You'll be fine.

That's up to you, but it's not smart. Do you know what tetanus is? It's rare because the vaccine against it is very effective... but not if you don't get it!! Here's a quick overview from the Mayo Clinic:

"Tetanus is a serious disease of the nervous system caused by a toxin-producing bacterium. The disease causes muscle contractions, particularly of your jaw and neck muscles. Tetanus is commonly known as lockjaw. Severe complications of tetanus can be life-threatening. There's no cure for tetanus. Not trying to scare you too much, just enough. If you get it, there is NO CURE. Fortunately, there's absolutely NO reason to ever get it. Any good doctor or nurse should be asking you "when was your last tetanus shot" if you come in with ANY kind of puncture wound or open cut. IF they don't, you should know to find out for yourself. It's a quick, painless shot.

Yes, it's a plain old simple easy shot with a small needle. Tetanus boosters are given every 10 years, or specifically in certain situations where it's likely that lots of bacteria is present. For example, you cut yourself on barbed wire on a farm, or on an implement that's unclean, you'd want a tetanus shot unless you recently had one. Please find out when you last had one and talk to your doctor about it.
