Open your mouth, stick your tongue out so its resting on your lower lip. Move your lower jaw up and down while your tongue is still sticking out and resting on your lower lip. While you move your lower jaw / tongue up and down do this as fast as possible and breath in at the same time through your nose. This will allow the true scent of your breath to reach your nostrils. Cupping your hands in front of your mouth while doing this may make it work a bit better.

People think you can just breath into your hands to know how your breath smells but it doesn't work like that.
