They say you are supposed to get 8 hours of sleep. I rarely do.
Do you get enough sleep?

They say you are supposed to get 8 hours of sleep. I rarely do.
When I go to bed and start to sleep before midnight, then yes. Then I wake up ~7,5 hours later on my own and feel fit.
When I fall asleep way after midnight, chances are, my sleep pattern gets screwed up, I'll have 4-5 hours mediocre sleep and need my alarm clock. Which then means, my work day will be in coffee-fueled stupor.
I hit about seven, seven and a half a lot more. This is only with medication, though. I also used to live in a place that was pretty loud. Things either waking me up or keeping me awake. I moved to a quieter area. I also often have my earbuds in so I can listen to white noise, or some soft music until I fall asleep (I have it so it gets quieter or shuts off after a certain amount of time). Now, I usually fall asleep a little quicker. I wake up once or twice early on, but usually can go back to sleep. It used to be where if I was woken up at 5am, I'm up for my day, even if I didn't fall asleep until 2am. I rarely took naps. I survived on caffeine.
I sleep so much better.
Not as much as I should- or want to, lol.
On average, I get 6-9 hours of sleep a night, depends on how tired I am after work and how soon I go to bed. I try to be in bed around 9-10pm most nights, as I wake up around 5am to exercise every morning. But if I'm really exhausted- I've been known to go to bed as early as 6pm (yeah, really, lol). But in my defense, between gym, work, and dealing with idiots and chatty people at work all day, I have no shame in crashing early some days.
I'm probably on my way to bed after I finish replying to this so I can -try- to get about 7-8 hours of sleep
I usually get 4 hours of sleep & function better than friends, family & colleagues who get around 8. There's actually a rare genetic mutation that allows certain people to function better on minimal sleep than if they got the "proper" time.

I've been forcing myself, but I usually do. Or if I'm short a bit, I'll have a nap.
I typically get about 8 hours. I'm retired so I don't have to get up at a certain time.
I'm a night owl, so I'm usually in bed between 2:15 and 2:30 am and get up between 10:00 and 11:00. LOL. Na na nana na.
When I was working, I had to get up by at least 7:30.
My wife usually goes to sleep around 11:00 pm and wakes up around 7:00 or so because she has to feed the cats. She also works 4 days a week and usually has to leave the house by 9:30.
Somewhere in the middle that it could be better, as I tend to get around 4 - 7, but it used to be awful. Throughout middle and high school I was pulling all-nighters, so there'd be days where I'd get maybe 3 - 6 hours of sleep within three days.
Ouch! If i sleep 8 hours or more i wake up like a train had run me over. Headache all day long..
The max. Amount of sleep is 6 hours. And that is enough.. sleep is to get rest and to process information of that day..
When i wake up .. open my eyes and see my sleeping beauty still sleeping.. i just watch her.. that gives me more internal rest and peace than 8 hours of sleep.
I don't think so miss bartender lady maya, sometimes i sleep 8 hours but wake up between an hour and another, also you have to sleep at night in a specific time and they say that sleeping during the day ain't good the same as sleeping in the night like from 11 pm till 5 am
8 hours of solid sleep... is there really such a thing?
kids sleep that much lol
Same! I get so jealous of people who can sleep anywhere at anytime.
@Archferret What's the saying "you don't appreciate something until it's gone."
Nope my baby keeps us up all night. He's going through a fun phase of waking up every 45 mintues 😵
I know the feeling... thank god that was 13 years ago. 🤣😂. I was a train wreck.. till my doctor said.. try a red light in your and the room of the baby... i though what?
But apparently red gives a high contrast for the human eye. So you still can see clearly.
White light give your brain a shock and you break up the sleep pattern. Red light not so much and your fall as sleep again much easier..
And wake up better..
Do not work for every one.. but this tip is free 😂🤣
@Constatine I have heard about the red light thing. I have a hatch nightlight but never set it on red. Maybe I'll have to try that tonight
😁👍
It seems to be different every day sometimes I only get 4 to 6 hours other times I get 8 or more. I just depends on what I have going on in a given week.
Usually closer to 6-7, but sometimes. Depends how drained I am.
Every once in a while, I'll get eight or more, but quite often it's more like six or seven. I just seem to wake up early every day regardless of my location.
Nah, sometimes I ran off 3 hours of sleep and use Pre-work out and Monsters to keep me energized.. Which does work, until I crashed.. It's terrible.. LOL..
I sleep around 1am to 6.30am... is that fine... from studies and research say have to be in deep sleep in midnight... so unhealthy for me...
what about you
Due to my shift patterns, the dogs, my partner etc. I get very little sleep. Infact I'm lucky if I get 3 hours without being undisturbed. My days are spent drinking an unhealthy amount of caffeine and naps, that turn into hours.
I go with 24x7=168 hours per week
So I compensate the sleep on weekends to achieve the 168 hour target and thus avoid sleep "debt'
Unfortunately I suffer from insomnia, so I can't get enough sleep, it's frustrating for me, sometimes it feels like there is no remedy.
Not really I work weird hours at an emergency department. A good orgasm or two does help me fall asleep however
I normally get around 7 usually if I'm sleeping alone. If I'm sleeping with someone else I get less. Probably 6 hours.
8 hours is a luxury lol jk, I usually sleep for 6-7 hours
Me too
I always make sure I get enough sleep. Sleep deprivation can negatively impact all forms of your health. From your immune system to your joint health. From your muscle repair to your mental functioning.
No, I have been on 4 hours a night for as long as I can remember. It is never enough.
