my grandparents needed more help, especially because he cannot really take care of her because she had been so demanding with her dementia this year. But they moved to an assisted living place just a couple of months ago and after about a month she fell and broke her hip, and seems to be much worse after that. I mean it was a hard situation to be in, but they’ve lived in that house for over 35 years. I didn’t think making her leave it was a good idea. I can’t help but wonder if that decision could mean years less.

I live in an assisted living facilities apartment.
I woud bring her home immediately! Poor thing. She's needs her family! Dementia and on top of that broken body parts.
No no no! Take her home.
Maybe you can get a caregiver to come to the house part-time to help your brother.
Once your in your rtat assisting, you're all all alone like I am at 4:00 and can't sleep, all alone. So sad😥
One difference is your family loves you and will give you the attention you need while a stranger at a seniors home might view you with the same compassion that he or she views a cut of steak, just another pay cheque. Some people do care and others do not care. There are also many who care but they are too busy to properly care for you. I would reconsider if you want them in a home with more supervision and possibly higher expenses.
assisted living has staff to help so good to move them from house to that.
I mean, that was the thinking, but it doesn’t seem like such a good idea if she is so much worse now. The idea is to get help and for her to live as long as possible as decently as possible.
