My lovely city once decided to install red light cameras against the will of the people, aka, the ones that snap a photo of your license plate as you enter the intersection on red and send you a hefty fine in the mail. My city does not believe in street lights. They are more of a suggestion than a rule, so if you attempt to brake on yellow, the person behind you will ram directly into your bumper and ruin your day. So the cameras caused a lot of accidents because people had to remember they now had to stop and some didn't understand why they now had to stop. Next election, we voted down these cameras even though their removal would cost millions. My city has been running through yellows ever since.
