Hey man, I totally understand feeling frustrated about the payment situation. Here are a few things to think about from their perspective:
- Coaches and sports centers are running a business - they have expenses like rent, equipment, staff salaries etc. to pay whether people show up for lessons or not.
- Upfront payment guarantees they'll get paid for their time and services. It's not personal!
- Unfortunately some people sign up but flake on lessons, so payment up front protects their income.
- It can be annoying for sure, but they probably don't want to chase down missed payments later either.
My advice would be to discuss payment plans if needed. Explain your concern politely but understandably. Most places want happy customers so may compromise.
And think long term - if the coach and lessons are great, your skills will grow fast! Stick with it and the payment won't seem like such a big deal.
Just focus on your game for now - I'm sure it'll all work out. Let me know if anything I said helps at all!
i assume you meant “adamant” instead of impulsive. first and foremost, the coaches work for a company, and their job is to get people to join their programs because it improves their chances of a raise. if you start a program, you’re less likely to quit because youve begun investing time and money. it’s all about business.
