Worked for me! I did that when I came to Australia. I'd gained a few kilos when I got here and bought myself a really cute outfit in my normal sizes and tried them on a couple of months ago and they were too big :D I think that once you have the motivation and you keep up the heating healthy and exercising, it becomes a lifestyle and you feel SO much better physically and mentally that it's hard to go back to just eating plain crap and sitting in front of the TV all day!
No, loose the weight first and then get new clothes once your stable and satisfied. You never know, you may loose more or less that intended.
I haven't found that to be the case for me.
I remember back in High School buying jeans that were on sale. They were tight and wouldn't button all the way. I figured I would be motivated to lose weight so I could wear them... but over the next 2 years, I gained 50 pounds.
After going insane and losing about 60lbs, I dug in my closet and came across those same jeans... and they finally fit. They've been sitting in my closet for about 3 years.
honestly? that's what did it for me. I bought a motorcycle riding jacket that was a size smaller than what I could fit into cause it was on sale for a ridiculously low price. it motivated me to lose weight to fit into it. only I didn't stop there. I kept going. now I'm down 115 lbs =)
nice, I luckily only have about 30-50lbs I probably need to lose

A) Depends on your bone structure, for example I would never be less than a 34-36 no matter how much fat I had because my hip bones are that size.
B) I would suggest investing in a good diet over clothes, although clothes might help to motivate you. What will actually help you is getting healthy foods, getting a juicer, etc.
If you don't lose the weight you've wasted money AND by the time you've lost the weight your tastes may have changed, you may not be as keen on the garments
I'd take one step at a time
that is why I'm buying them one size down and then once I get to that size then go down one more. I have tried on the clothes to see how much I have to go, and it is a good goal for me. I probably have set a goal of around 15 lbs right now.
well, it's a gamble, isn't it? Works for some people. I think any sort of incentive is good, although this isn't the best one.
Waste of time.

Eat healthier.

Buy smaller clothes.

no, it'll just make yourself depressed if you don't get down to that weight
That hasn't worked for me, usually I have to buy bigger clothes because of putting on weight.
