Would you be afraid to show your feelings in public for your significant other?

Let say like hugging, holding hands, making out. or you are not those people? or you dont care and you are very expressive. Lets say a couple had been dating for 3 years but in public when they are caught they never really show like they are in love, never hold hands, never hug each other, it is like they dontt want to be seen they are a couple so in public, they look like they are friends. Is this unsual in a couple?

I mean why hide your feelings in public?

The example for this question is a movie star (actor) who had been dating with a woman for 3 years both of them are very private. It seems she is more into him than him into her. The woman is not entertainment related. The actor is known for not really being seeing togehter at work related events like red carpets wth his SO, maybe the SO is there with him or not (away from cameras) but to being seen together as a couple, it never happens, he always is seen by himself. caught together like walk street strolls, or hang out onthe streets, sometimes they hold hands other times they are not holding hands, hugging anything, they look like strangers or friends, even if you can seea smile here an there or they look serious. Sometimes they hold hands, others not but they hold hands like just a committment to being seen they are together and are a couple, the actor is not happy been caught by paps so he does not like to show a real genuine emotion
