Is Miso soup Mon-Thursday a good option for lunch?
Miso soup can actually be a pretty good low-calorie option for weight loss. Here are a few reasons why:
- It's very low in calories - A typical serving of miso soup is only around 30-50 calories since it's mostly just broth.
- High in nutrients - Miso is packed with vitamins, minerals and antioxidants. All those nutrients will keep you feeling full and satisfied.
- Helps digestive health - The fermented ingredients in miso can support a healthy gut, which plays a role in weight and metabolism.
- Part of a balanced meal - Miso soup makes a nice light starter or addition to a bowl with veggies/protein. It prevents overeating at lunch.
Having miso soup a few times a week could definitely help with weight loss as long as you balance it with healthy proteins/carbs. Just watch the sodium intake if you have high blood pressure.
I'd say go for it Mon-Thurs! Just pair it with a salad or leftovers from last night's dinner. That should keep you full all afternoon without going over your calorie budget. Let me know if you have any other diet questions!
You are an adult. How do you not know the only way to lose weight is a calorie deficit. If you eat 1000 calories in candy for a whole day you will lose more weight than if you eat 3000 calories worth of vegetables.
Most soups are good for weight loss. Its the accompanying pile of bread thats the problem
