It's not urgent or anything, but sometime this year is recommended just to check and make sure everything's OK. You do NOT want to get it because would be extremely uncomfortable and might be extremely painful too.
You can do it right away, or wait until the end of the year, or refuse altogether. You can choose to be put under for it to avoid majority of the pain and discomfort of the procedure, but insurance prolly won't cover that so it would be expensive.
What would you do / suggest? As like a friend or acquaintence, not like as a doctor obviously.

There is a virus 🦠 called the HPV virus (Human papillnoma Virus) that if you have unprotected sex with a guy (or girl?) and he has the HPV virus the female can get cervical cancer from his ejaculate inside of your body.
I think I was with someone who might have had HPV, and we only had sex a few times, but my pap smear test came back abnormal for the very first time. It came back 2B.
So I had a long medical journey after that. I was sent to three different specialists, all kinds of tests, and then a surgery where a big part of my cervix was removed to check for cancer.
I did not have cancer. But the doctor said if I ever got pregnant they would have to sew my cervix so the baby wouldn't fall out.
I never had a bad result on a oap smear after that.
However, this guy got married and years later I talked to his brother and he said his wife was full of cervical cancer.
There are vaccines for HPV but you have to be pretty young when you get it. I can't remember the exact age. There was a TV commercial about it and the boy was mad at them getting him the vaccine when he was 11;or 12.
I couldn't find any reading material on it, just a lot of horrifying pictures of it.
I just wanted to make you aware of that because if you happen to get cervical cancer and you choose to skip the pap smear you might be sorry.
I don't know anyone that likes getting a pap smear. I always close my legs while the doctor is down there🤭 and they have to tell me to open my legs up. LOL
Just think that many thousands of women get a pap smear every year. Million's! You can do it too.
You'll be ok!
If a doctor suggest something its generally a good idea to do it.
You can always get a second or third opinion by another doctor, espacially when its involving something extreme like a surgery.
It's not a surgery it's just a "routine exam," but it is very invasive and can be very painful for some people. Getting second opinion may be good idea anyways tho thanks
Be an adult and get one anyways
