If you ever get a cold or troubles with snot in your snoot, does it ever smell/taste like cheap metal?

What makes a metal taste cheap? If you are tasting metal it could be blood, a sinus infection or an oral issue.

Some metal you can hold and it doesn't leave behind the smell it has in your hands. Others do not. Those that do are pretty cheap.

I've had loads of colds, congestion and even pneumonia 3 times and, quite often, the shit I cough up and blow into the Kleenex has a funky cheap metallic smell and taste to it.
Dad would sometimes bring home a length of pipe from, the gas company where he worked and, if you handle it bare handed, and then smell your hands, that's what this smells like.
