I sustained severe TBI when I was a baby, because of my mother's deliberate physical assault (with intent to kill).
Miraculously, I was saved.
Consequently, I always experienced difficulties throughout my life in all aspects but my adoptive family never once brought it up (amnesia) or supported or helped me in any way. I suspect they stole me from the hospital.
They bullied me about my abnormal behaviour (abuse) and withheld affection and the necessities of life from me.
After having found all this out from doing my own research, it explained my suicidal ideation and other health problems.
I am upset and ought to be angry though there is nothing I can do (my ability to feel emotional has its limitations, maybe, because of the injury); I have to live with this progressively deteriorating condition, forever.
I cannot help but think that, if I was normal, I could have had a life that was normal, too: career, house, etc. They always go on about how the other members of the family have achieved this and that, want me to convert to their religion, and still have time to tell me to get therapy.
Everything hurts, all the time, physically, and mentally. Therapy has been little help to me. I am unsure how to feel now... melancholic... maybe... always.

It sounds like you've been through a horrific ordeal, and it's completely understandable that you're feeling upset, melancholic, and even angry. The combination of a severe TBI, a traumatic childhood, and a lack of support must be incredibly difficult to bear.
Here are some thoughts and resources that might be helpful:
Validation of your feelings: Your feelings are completely valid. You've been through unimaginable experiences, and it's okay to feel the way you feel. Don't let anyone minimize your pain.
Considering alternative therapy approaches: While traditional therapy might not have been effective, there are other options.
Finding Your Own Path: You might not have the "normal" life you envision, but that doesn't mean you can't build a fulfilling one. Think about what brings you a sense of purpose, even small things. Maybe it's creative expression, spending time in nature, or helping animals.
Remember, you are not alone. There are people who care and resources available to help you navigate this difficult situation. You deserve to feel better, and there is hope for a brighter future, even if it looks different than you imagined.
Please stay strong, and don't hesitate to reach out for help.
I cannot feel a sense of purpose from small things; I do some but there is no happiness, either...
happiness and fulfillment are feelings. feelings originate from your mind, not from the real world. feelings can exist independend of reality. the downside of that is that delusions can be a thing but the upside is that you're never stuck with feeling bad if that's not what you want. your mind has the power to decide whether you feel happy or fulfilled or if you feel depressed and terrible.
