I've had pain in my leg since February. I've had x-ray, ultrasound and MRI and nothing is visibly wrong. The specialist orthopaedic dr said he was stumped as to what could be the issue. I basically have to hope it goes away or gets worse 😔
1 yYeah. Similarly it was an issue with my leg, but it was numbness, not pain.
Went so far as NEMG, needle electromyography. They stuck a needle with a microphone in it into my muscles, and recorded the sound of them when i flexed and relaxed. It hurt like hell! The results of that test, like all the previous tests, were inconclusive. So i stopped doing the tests. I had no pain. My range of motion and functionality were not limited. So i decided to live with it rather than spend tens of thousands of dollars on tests that resulted in absolutely nothing but medical bills. How many industries get to bill for ZERO results?
Eventually i figured out the problem when i shared my experience on FB! Ordinary people figured out my problem for FREE, where dozens of doctors and tens of thousands of dollars had NO idea. They should all be in prison!00 Reply

Honestly it hard to trust doctors sometimes I told my doctor my body doesn't feel A okay I smoked a lot and drank a lot I think I have liver problems and my doctor said "you're young, younger people stress themselves out about anything" I told him "I'm not like younger people my age" he said "I've heard that one before" then we ran a test and come to find out that i indeed HAD issues in my liver. Long story short you can never expect another human being to take YOUR body into consideration as much as you would but that's just my personal opinion.

This is definitely not that situation. The drs definitely believe me that there is an issue, there's just no diagnosis therefore treatment at this point as they have no idea what's going on
- 1 y
Then respect to them as they are truly caring for you and trying and as for the situation you are going through I personally believe in God and truly believe God has gotten me through "impossible" situations that I wouldn't be able to get through if it wasn't for him but it is just my opinion I will pray for you

I highly doubt that, I'm pretty sure a tumour would show up on an MRI. I just want to know whats wrong so I can remedy it and not be in pain every day
- 1 y
It's the right side back of knee mostly. But the pain aches over my whole knee.
- 1 y
I do walk a lot. But like I said they couldn't see any issues with anything
- 1 y
Yeah sure I'll just... Stop walking 🤨
1 yMy biggest health issue is I always get so pain around my waist around my ovulation day. And my period is being messy like, this month is 24, next month 28 and the other month is 22 or even only 18 days. I checked up to obgyn but the doctor said because i am stressed. But the more i think about it, the more i get stress.

1 yThat sounds soooo frustrating! I have a rare genetic condition that causes lots of issues, and it took over 10 years to figure it out. Unfortunately it's incurable and there's nothing they can do for it except treat symptoms as they occur, but in a way it helps me just knowing what the problem is.

@Razp_Sorbet Is there a good teaching hospital near you? They do research and are always thinking out of the box. That's how I got my diagnosis, by going to one of the top teaching hospitals here in NYC. Before that I had gone to all kinds of specialists who are probably very good, but they basically have a list of conditions they typically encounter and they don't look beyond those.

@Jay-_- No worries! Yeah, I was responding to @Razp_Sorbet but I welcome your input as well. :)

Yeah no teaching hospitals near me

Thanks for the MHO! :)

1 yIf it is in the front of the leg and especially when going down stairs, my first guess would be shin splints. If the "pain" in your leg is basically "cramping", some people get relief by drinking some Tonic Water: the quinine in it helps fix the cramps. If the pain radiates downward from the butt, think in terms of sciatica. If any of these seem to fit your symptoms, let your doc know for further follow-up. Disclaimer: since I am "only" a Massage Therapist with 30+ years of experience, these comments are not to be considered as medical advice. My wife recently had chest and armpit pain- usually indicative of some heart issue. Spent half a day in the ER and docs found nothing out of the ordinary, so some things CAN simply be idiopathic (no apparent cause).

1 yI suffered terrible headaches as a kid (since I was six years old), and for most of my adult life... no one could figure out what was wrong...
fortunately, a few years ago, one of the doctors suggested to me those could be headaches from tensed muscles in the shoulders and upper back... and it was that... a few massage sessions and I'm free of this nightmare :D10 Reply1.1K opinions shared on Health & Fitness topic. That's why they call it a practice!
00 ReplyI assume that when they did the ultrasound they checked your legs for the quality of the circulation in both the veins and the arteries as poor circulation which can be caused by many things can cause various types of pain in the lower legs. I hope they figure it out for you as pain can cause stress as can not knowing the source of the pain. Best of luck to you.

1 yI think we each have some medical condition that we have to deal with. Sometimes the doctor's "solution" is surgery, which I frankly avoid if I can. And sometimes the doctor is simply stumped, Just live with it."
There's an old joke...
Patient says to Doctor, "My arm hurts when I raise it above my head."
Doctor says, "Don't do that. That will be $100 please."

u 1 yYeah, my biggest health issue for the past 6 years is still undiagnosed. I’ve had every test under the sun done and doctors still wouldn’t have a clue. Luckily they found a medication to treat it even if they couldn’t diagnose it, otherwise I’d likely be dead right now.
10 Reply384 opinions shared on Health & Fitness topic. go to a good physical therapist, they can figure out all sorts of things. ask your friends for a recommendation because you really want someone good

Unfortunately because there's no diagnosis physio isn't going to be useful since they don't know what they need to do to fix the problem. My options at the moment is to try strengthen my legs with exercise like swimming or bike riding and/or simply wait till it gets a lot worse
- 1 y
No offense but I think the specialist may know what he's doing
- 1 y
Stumped on what the issue is... He said he couldn't refer me to a physiotherapist because he wouldn't have anything to instruct them on. Don't want to just try a bunch of things and risk it causing more issues. Because of the location of the pain it could stem from anywhere from my neck to my back to my hip to my ankle. I appreciate the help though

1 yyeah this pain in my mid abdomen. thought it might be bone related but xrays couldn't find anything. i just kinda gave up after awhile. i only feel it if i've been driving for awhile with my seat belt firmly pressing against the area.

I've strived to fix anything myself. The doctor would patronise and seldom properly fix anything.
I've cured most things myself.

1 yMost Dr.'s don't know what they're doing and only know how to dish out drugs you very likely don't need. Quite often, those drugs make you MUCJH worse than when you started!!

1 yWhereabouts in your leg? Do you get leg cramps.
012 Reply- 1 y
It's my knee area, behind right side specifically
- 1 y
Always sore? Any numbness in the same side foot?
- 1 y
Always a dull ache. Pain is worse with kneeling, sitting cross legged, going up stairs, sitting with knees up. No numbness at all.
- 1 y
Where I'm going with this... my daughter is 22 and she has some sciatica due to arthritis in the tailbone. It's from sitting a lot with her job.
The sciatic muscle extends all the way from your tailbone through your knee pit and down to where it hooks on in your arch of your foot. When the arthritis flares up it effects the entire muscle causing it to ache - mainly knee pit and arch of foot. - 1 y
It's not sciatica. Not nerve pain at all, I did a course of strong anti inflammatories meant for nerve pain and it made no difference.
- 1 y
Weird... the anti inflammatory meds had no affect?
- 1 y
Made no difference at all
- 1 y
Did they test you for fibromyalgia? It's more a neuro disorder where you mind amplifies the pain more than what's actually present in the body.
- 1 y
I had a friend who had this at work, I felt so sorry for her.
- 1 y
Fibromyalgia is more wide spread not localized pain
- 1 y
True... hope you figure it out, has to be annoying.
- 1 y
Good luck🤞🏼🍀🍀
