Getting rid of hickeys...

Do you have any personal experience with removing hickeys? Anything that's worked for you? I've read up on hot compresses and toothpaste and everything, but I'm just wondering what you've tried and if it's worked for you! Thanks!

Ive had a lot of those, nothing will make hickeys disappear overnight sweetie. What you can TRY to make it invisible is use concealer to match your skin tone and then some powder on top, and keep putting it on every time you feel it will show or when the makeup goes away.

Those are hard to hide, especially from a parent.

DEAR GOD. If you had seen some of the horrendous hickey experiences I've had. Once (twice) my neck and chest were COMPLETELY covered in hickeys and I had to go visit my grandparents for a week. The old remedies really did not work. Foundation/cover up and a scarf is probably your best option.

Hickeys are a result of blood raising to the surface. There are ways of breaking them down but then it looks more like a bruise. I have used the spoon technique but it wasn't a very noticeable hickey to begin with. link

how long after you got it did you do that?

As soon as she left I checked the mirror. Not sure who long it was after we fooled around till she left though.

But any treatment should be done immediately upon notice. The faster you get to it, the faster it can go away.

Alternate hot and cold will speed up the natural fading of these hickeys. Do you have thi sproblem often?

no, I haven't gotten a hickey in two years, haha. this guy Friday night gave me a giganitc one.

1st- put an ice pack on it for 5-10 minutes

2nd- use a chapstick cap to rub it (it will probably hurt) obviously use the rounded part

3rd- put ice pack back on to reduce swelling.

Should be gone or at least significantly less noticeable by morning

Apparently rubbing the negative side of a battery on the skin where the hickey is is supposed to be helpful. I don't really think there's anyway to make it go away very quickly, though.
