Does time really heal, or do we just learn how to carry the pain better?

I've gone through really intense emotional pain which was kind of related to some people who mattered/matters to me, so how I feel is- in most cases, I heal when things get sorted out... but if there were some things that hurt you and thet had to do with people breaking/betraying your trust, or then leaving you in your times of need or you had to distance yourself because you realise things are never gonna get better. It's only going to cause you more pain so you leave. In such cases, you just learn to move forward and there comes a time when you won't even think about them much anymore but when you do, you do feel sad for sometime but you pull yourself together in few minutes and focus on things that are important.
Yh I understand what you are saying deeply and I love your strength for not letting anything keep you down that's impressive
You're welcome
You learn to adjust and move on.
To put it another way... think about when you break a bone or tear a tendon... The thing heals but still smarts from time to time so you have to compensate. If you have stitches or surgery for it there's scar tissue and you need to navigate your every day activities and plans around it... Soon the compensation becomes habitual and you stop thinking about it, but that doesn't mean you're 100% the way you were, just that... you're good again.
That's a good example
I feel time will heal you physically, that's how the body works.
I feel time will not heal you emotionally. It will start to numb the pain and you will continue on in life.
The mind and heart can only remember what was and haunt you with what could have been.
That's not necessarily a bad thing, it just lets you know you are still alive and here. You have to make do with what you got and continue on.
So live life and have fun, the pain will subside, but never go away.
That's just my experience though...
It doesn't exactly heal, but it gives us time to process what happened and get used to the idea of a new reality
Yh I think so to
*too

Healing isn’t a destination — it’s the courage to rise, again and again, even when the world feels heavy. Showing up daily is a rebellion, a victory, and proof you’re stronger than your struggle. It comes from your own inner strength. We all have those capabilities; you just need to know how to harness the power.
I believe healing might need revisiting or reliving past trauma so the pain can be acknowledged by bringing it back to the surface and I believe many wounds heal in selective and intentional stages and not all at once. I also believe there are different types of healing activities required for different types of trauma.
Even better, it teaches you to avoid low quality poorly raised disrespectful losers and try to be with a white gentleman who can help you stay calm and settle in your feminine energy instead of challenging or insulting your femininity at every opportunity that he gets thereby proving why he’s inferior. Too many bad interactions can’t be avoided and generalisation will happen. If you give me vibes like you’re a million times more racist than an average decent white man, you will get degraded by me. I know too many black/Indian boys who don’t even show basic human decency towards non-white women like me and get EXTREMELY JEALOUS if I look up to someone who is European. One of them tries so hard to make me jealous of the blondes he simps for not even realising that simps are a huge turn-off for me. I simply can’t submit to someone’s submissive boy. I must have talked to over 1000 different men from different communities to figure out where my peace lies.
With maturity, I think we do learn to carry the pain better. But, If there isn't healing then, at some point, the cup is going to run over and we will break down.
Hmmm yh that's true
It lessens the pain, it will never take it away completely. It just allows you to go on with life.
Yh we just live with inside silently it never completely goes away
it heals if we learn or gain something... then the suffering had value.
otherwise, we learn to cope and the emotions mellow, but still dwell within.
The emotioinal impact of some conditions tends to lessen over time, with some exceptions.
Yh it creates some nasty scars right
With time, we heal and also learn how to carry the pain better.
I think you accept things better after a while but can still feel sad at times
I think it's a combination of both.
Why do you think so?
Because when I lost my aunt who was more like a sister to me because we were so close in age, that took a lot of time to heal from and sometimes it still is hard to deal with. That pain will probably never truly go away completely but it gets easier everyday. Emotional pain is like a scar. It heals but it's still there. So we both learn how to carry that pain of loss or grief and let time slowly heal us from it.
Yh I deeply relate with this though and understand what you are saying yh some pains never leave without a scar and pains of losing someone to death is something else
Indeed it is.
Some wounds will never heal
Yh I think so too
It can be either.
